How the mighty have fallen.....

So, I got off the bus today at my city centre bus station in Plymouth Devon. Which, on a related note is a run down bus station, that is tramp infested as you like.

Now inside this bus station, there is a 'nightclub' called the White Rabbit. The bar specialises in live local rock bands and underage drinking, and tramps.

As I walked past, a poster in the window caught my eye, and I had to double take.

So there you go, Lita goes from performing in front of thousands in the states, to performing in front of a few dozen kids in a stinking bus station in Devon.

And by the way, there is a cafe next door aptly named 'Tramps Cafe'

Most bands start from the bottom. I'm sure she knew what she was getting into.

U-Warrior 09-21-2008 06:44 PM

Pretty generic sounding.

Xero 09-21-2008 06:48 PM

If they were, you know, "good", I'm sure WWE would have helped them get a decent deal and/or use them heavily.

Then again, Vince probably doesn't think anything is "good" except for The Lawrence Welk Show.

And ZZ Top.

Lord-Of-Darkness 09-21-2008 06:55 PM

Exactly. Pretty different scenario but WWE promoted Fozzy now and again and helped out from what I figure.

This story does not bring me to the same conclusion.

CSL 09-21-2008 06:57 PM

Fozzy played a little venues around the country a couple of years ago too. I mean yeah, the Luchagors might be a bit shit but they were never gonna be playing the Wembley or M.E.N Arena's when nobody knows who they are

Xero 09-21-2008 06:59 PM

"Wasn't she in that Diva's search or some shit?"

Of course a band with Lita in it would start out on bottom and work her way to the top.

Blue Demon 09-21-2008 07:03 PM

She'll probably botch singing

Dorkchop 09-21-2008 07:12 PM

I think she's pretty into punk so I'm assuming she's just doing it because she loves the music. It must be kind of fun to go from wrestling in front of 15 000 + people a night to signing in front of, literally, a couple hundred people (sometimes less).

I don't know if anyone here has heard of Strike Anywhere, but I've seen them quite a bit and they're great live.

Cactus Sid 09-21-2008 07:37 PM

Jesus, they could have at least tried to have played the Cavern in Exeter, the White Rabbit is pretty low. Have heard some atrocious shit when I've gone past there.

For those who don't know, its pretty rare that any major acts come down to Devon because its deemed too "remote", to put into perspective just how suprising this is.... (not saying she's a major act, but I think you get the point)

Exactly what Sid said

Aside from when Fozzy played on Raw, WWE has NEVER promoted the band. They did everything on their own.

Lord-Of-Darkness 09-21-2008 08:24 PM

My bad

Fozzy has been used for at least one PPV theme. Plus there was that whole Heat storyline. Pretty sure they pushed a CD or two as well.

Danny Electric 09-21-2008 08:41 PM

Strike Anywhere are awesome.

Sorry thought you meant actual promotion and not an advertisment or an exchange.

Fozzy were selling out pretty decent sized buildings before they were mentioned on WWE TV too.

Danny Electric 09-21-2008 08:48 PM

Oh and that Hell On Earth tour is brutal, go to that.

Indeed.

Well... That's not really true. WWE made Fozzy T-Shirts and sold them on WWE.com. I mean, it's hardly a freebee obviously, but it probably didn't make Vince any money, nor did having them on Raw, or using them as a PPV theme song.

Fozzy also have never really the success that the final sentence there discribes, and they never got any further recognition from the WWE plugs either.

Kane Knight 09-22-2008 12:21 AM

Anyway, is it really the mighty falling? I mean, if Undertaker was opening for Doink the Clown at the Windham County fair, yeah, but we're talking about a low-level skank in a skank club.

Lord-Of-Darkness 09-22-2008 06:18 AM

True, but that being said, if I was performing for the WWE in front of god knows how many, I'd feel pretty mighty. And then to perform in a piss stained bus station, I'd feel like I'd fallen pretty hard.

Just sayin

El Fangel 09-22-2008 06:21 AM

Watch her pull an Ashlee Simpson and botch lip-syncing.

Fox 09-22-2008 07:03 AM

"Janis Joplin, deceased. Alcohol.

Jimi Hendrix, deceased. Drugs.

Lita, deceased... ham sandwich."

There's a TNA joke in there somewhere, but it's just too easy.

Fryza 09-22-2008 03:17 PM

Whoa.

Evergreen Terrace is playing.
