Windows XP Issue
Everytime i try and put windows XP on my System it loads it for a min or so then when it says starting windows i get an error message stating windows has been shut down to protect your system ? HELP?

Blue screen of death, or what? Not that great of information here.
|
Gotta agree with Req here...not giving us much to go on.
What "system" do you have? Maybe it's old and doesn't have sufficient processing power/memory. Are you also running another version of Windows/some other OS? Are you using a genuine copy of XP? Are you upgrading from an older version of Windows? Did you format the HD prior to loading XP? |
its a blue screen its on a brand new system that i have had nothing but problems with since i opened it on friday . its a genuine copy of windows xp.

If you have had nothing but problems with it, send it back. There could be hardware issues.
|
OK.
Best advice right now - if it's a brand new system, take it back to where you bought it and get them to fix it. Anything you may now try could void any warranty or service support. |
Req beat me to it...but really - take it back.

i emailed the computer company they are sending me out brand new disks

I had the same issue when I got this PC. I had to upgrade my BIOS as the CPU was too good for the BIOS revision.
If you can, get a friend to download the BIOS onto a flash CD for your motherboard and read the motherboard manual for instructions for updating from CD. |
I thought PCs weren't being sold with XP anymore...

u can still find some companys that will zero

Yeah, they better be still offering XP, because Vista is a pile of shit. I know Dell still does, IIRC. They even offer Ubuntu, too.
