Awesome. Silent Hill is a great series. Ill probably pick this up in couple of weeks. Kinda broke right now : ( . But 2 will forever be my favorite gonna be hard to top that one but his one could do it.

In my latest attempt to soften the blow incase this game sucks, I just went out and bought silent hill 2, 3, and 4.


I will be playing them in order until tuesday, and then resuming them after I beat homecoming. So i'll be resuming on thursday.

I thought this might be shit when I heard about different devs taking over, it confirmed it in my eyes when they dropped the 5. They don't want to steer people away from the real SH5 that will eventually be released.

I'm still holding out hope that it will be at least decent.

After all, it's got the Boogeyman in it.

I might give it a download once we're out of the holiday period. I just got FIFA (to tide me over until PES) and Saints Row 2 though so no room for SH5 just yet

I have to say I'm impressed so far. Probably the best SH since 2, I'd say.

And I liked 3 quite a bit.

It's really good but I still prefer the first game from PSX.

I got to play for about 3 hours today, and just tooling around I have to say I like what I see.

The combat is the best of the series. I think the dodge/counter makes it all flow very nicely, considering most enemies will own you if you try to go at them with no strategy. Graphically, it's very impressive - I've already hada few "OH shit" moments from my own SHADOW ON THE WALL.

My only gripe? I've been playing for about 3 hours and I'm yet to really learn anything about what's going on. Like...I don't know why someone is missing or what silent hill has to do with sheperds glen.

Oh, and we get it. The main character doesn't like water. He almost drowned when he was kid, and he probably drowned some other people, and the game beats that to death in the first hour. Thanks. Wouldn't have otherwise figured that out in the end.

Rented it and think it's pretty cool. Graphics are good.

And the Silent Hill storys have always been a weird mystery anyways.

Didn't really "feel" like a silent hill game in the long run. Sure it was creepy, but there were waaaay too many enemies and the combat system was a joke. The protaganist in the previous games were a writer, a clerk, a teenage girl, a douchebag, and a trucker ; the main character in this game has the agility of Bruce fucking Lee. Too much bobbing and weaving for my taste. It's not survival horror to me if there arent any enemies that you are better off just running away from. But the story is pretty cool. So....Im sure you can get it for 20 bucks somewhere..or even cheaper. Probably just worth a rent thought as you will be able to beat it quite handily.

I've heard that Dead Space was more of a pants-shitter than Silent Hill Homecoming was so....does that help?
