vpn issue...

what the hell, let's see if someone here has a creative idea.

VPN from laptop at home has worked fine for months.

all of the sudden 2 nights ago, it logs in and verify's then drops.

I re-crate the connection same thing.

laptop to wireless router.

I go to the destop, create the login... same thing.

I try to login from a computer somewhere else (a office 5mins away) and it's fine.

I call the local phone company and "We don't support vpn, the problem is with network your logining into, call your IT person".

anyone wanna take a guess at any easy fixes I can try?

This is for a PT consulting thing I do and the IT person for the company is paid only when used and he's a dick most of the time, so I really don't want to deal with him.

You've probably tried this but has Windows firewall activated itsself?

If not, re-install Windows?

I didn't think to check if the firewall turned itself on...

don't want to re-install windows... going to take the laptop to the office where the desktop works and see if it works, if it does then clearly there is a problem with the dsl at my house.

Try it over a cable rather than wireless on your DSL.
Also try connecting it to a cable that you know the connection works ok.

brought it to my office, it worked fine (still using wireless, but the one there) brought it home and magicly it worked... this is after talking to the IT guy who swore it had to be verizon, couldn't be anything on his end... and a few hours later magicly it worked...
