Jack Swagger could pull off a Waylon Mercy type gimmick with that grin
Waylon Mercy was one of my favourite characters, and Jack Swagger's grin/smile could really pull that off well. I know it'll never happen, but man I would love to see that character reborn.

That's one of the few characters from that era that wasn't wrestlecrap, because it was so great.

too bad Spivey's back couldn't hold up, because it was friggen awesome and everytime Swagger smiles he reminds me of MErcy.

DDP's grin > Swagger's grin
|
I dunno. Mercy's/Swagger's grin is kind of diabolical looking sometimes. DDPs grin just looked like he was the happiest man that ever lived.

Thats not a bad thing, thats a good thing.

What was the deal with Waylon Mercy anyway? I just remember when he squashed a bug against his arm.

I believe Mercy was based off of DiNiro's (sp?) character from Cape Fear.
He came across as this smooth, polite Southern gentleman that had a sadistic streak. He used the sleeper as a finish and would shake the referee and the opponent's hand before the bell. However, once the bell rang, he would tear you apart. |
I thought I'd heard it was Spivey's knees that weren't up to it. Oh well.
Was a great character, and I'd love to see it again. |
He was evil Festus basically.
He was suppose to look like Deniro from Cape Fear, and would snap. I dont know what wa sso great about it. I think it is a bandwagon fad. |
Jack Swagger looks frozen in time when he's not wrestling. I don't think he blinks. There's definitely some creepiness to be mined in there, somewhere.
