Ric Flair, while taking part in a question and answer session with fans at a 1PW event in Doncaster, Great Britain yesterday, admitted that he is considering a return to the ring as he has an offer to do dates in Japan.

Flair noted that while part of him would like to do the dates, he's conflicted due to his promise that Wrestlemania XXIV would be his final wrestling match.

How many people actually believe he'll keep WMXXIV as his last match?

I voted no. Because when do wrestlers ever retire when they say they will? If he doesn't do these dates I'm sure something else will come up soon enough.

He left his legacy in really good shape by having a retirement match and set up that everyone would of dreamed of having.

Coming back and working against guys that are not the same calibre of guys like HBK, would make him look like shit and totally ruin all the good work that was done

I'd imagine it will come to the point where he is offered so much money that he can't turn it down. It seems he is almost at that point already, it's good that he's at least trying to stick to his promise.

I said it wouldn't be his last match when he first said it would be his last match. I just don't believe it anymore. Especially seeing these fat and out of shape wrestler working well into thier 60's and 70's. They really never stop wrestling until they die.

If people pay him enough he will wrestle.

Yeah, I got no problem with it. Unless he went to wrestle for TNA or WWE again, I don't see it as counting. Because no one cares what you do anywhere else. I'd still call him retired otherwise.

I really don't think Flair knows anything other than wrestling, so at age 56 or whatever, what's he gunna do for the rest of his life?

a plane crash didnt stop the old bastard. Do you really think he would turn down a chance to be center stage again.

Everyone knows Flair hasn't got the best financial record. If he is offered money that could supliment the lifestyle he'd like for a few years, of course he should take it.

He should go to Japan when the money is at it's highest and call it a fairwell to Japan tour or something. Try to stay honest to his word, but rightfully earn a big paypacket that will help him have a more financially stable retirement.

I don't think that would be too unfair, or that people could be overly synical of him.

I mean if some local indy promoter came to you and said come here, work about 15 minutes and we'll pay you a couple thousand dollars, what do you say?

I don't know about you guys though, but I like going to these Legends conventions and all, but these events have made me realize that seeing these guys in thier 50's and 60's wrestle is really sad. I saw Midnight Express vs Rock N Roll Express wrestle a couple years back. Cool match on paper, right? Two of the greatest teams ever, right? Watching them preform though.....my god....uh, why was I excited again?

You watch Beyond the Mat and you watch that MTV "I wanna be a pro wrestler" and you you see these local shows preformed in high school gyms with guys you grew up watching and it's really kind of sad watching these guys still try to relive thier past glory. No disrespect to any of them because who wouldn't take money to work 15-20 minutes, but most of these guys have no business trying to do anything that involves pysical acitivity anymore.

Don't get me wrong, some guys in thier 50's can still work a match (Hogan and Flair), but with most, it's just like watching a train wreck.

I totally agree. And what makes that worse, is the average 15 years past their sell by date wrestler isn't even making decent money for embarrassing themselves. I heard Jake's last tour around here, he was getting 20% of the gate at each show, and he could sell his own merchandise. These shows were drawing like 80 people at less than £8 or so, so he was making less than £150 a night.

Big difference for Ric is he will make probably what he earned last year at WWE for 6 or 7 dates in Japan. And that is not to be sniffed at. Also I think he can still work. And unlike most of the guys around here that are obsessed with seing cheiseled adonis' on their TV's, I don't care about the fact he has a poor physique.

If he eventually works for TNA though, I take everything back and he is old and useless and saggy.

I think it could have been his final American wrestling match, but to go to Japan would be amazing and most people in America would never have to know about it anyway.

Personally, I don't really care. Let the man do what the man wants to do. If he wants to wrestle, I just hope he has his health in mind, and that he is getting well paid for it, and making wise financial investments with that money.

if he wants money he should just open a wrestling school. His retirement was a grand affair.. he should let it be the way it was.
