I smell a CM Punk vs Kofi Kingston feud in the nearby future.

Those people will be using one of the following arguments:

A. He's paying his dues.
B. He's working with better talents, so I don't care.
C. He's fucked Maria, so I don't care

For awhile I was hoping something big might happen between Orton and Punk when he returns, but its looking like they're going with the less interesting route of Batista versus Orton. Bahg.

I think Punk's push was the equivalent of WWE putting out a fire that they didn't really need to put out. Like if your brand new car, your big screen HD TV, and your girlfriend's poodle were all on fire at the same time, and y'know, one of them had to get sprayed with extinguisher last. And it's like you don't want to, but because your girlfriend is standing right there you have to put out the dog first?

In this case, the brand new car is Cena, the HD TV is Batista, and the girlfriend's poodle is Mr. Punk. The boyfriend is WWE and the girlfriend is the fans. They put out the poodle and now they're focusing back on the important shit, where their attention is likely to stay.

Punk's "push" was the writers going "Oh my God, we have two belts on one show. Should we draw this out and try and build Punk up to get the other title over on Raw? Nah, let's just have Edge show up and get pinned." They were winging it from there.
