Thought I remembered about a year or so ago it being reported that WWE was going to do away with having nameplates on their championship belts.

Granted, they then went ahead and put one on the Bratz belt, so...

I must say I am pretty pissed off that Cena is getting a title shot at Survivor Series, if that is the case. I was thinking he would win the 2009 Royal Rumble, and then take the title from a heel Batista. And, you know, actually make his first World Heavyweight Championship win mean something...

Ah well, at least that means something else might go down next year.

As for the belt, to me, it seems really ugly. Certainly not worth changing the current design over. Me thinks it may well be a fake. The absence of the WWE logo, however, could be easily explained by the fact they don't call it the "WWE World Heavyweight Championship," but rather just the "World Heavyweight Champion." Colour me surprised that it isn't labeled the "World Heavyweight Entertainment Champion," though.

Also, they are yet to change the red from Triple H's WWE Championship belt last I saw. I've been hoping for the longest time that they come up with a new one for him.

This is not the new title belt for a few reasons: it doesn't have the WWE insignia on it anywhere, it doesnt have "RAW" or "SD" on it anywhere, Vince would NOT approve a belt that says "World Heavyweight WRESTLING Champion." He would force them to put it as "World Heavyweight Champion" or "World Heavyweight Entertainer."

I don't find it that bad, too bad they're changing the wrong heavyweight belt.

The big gold belt needs to have a nameplate, or they need to get a new belt design.
