Who would put on a better fight with Brock?

Brock did not dominate in his randy fight as much I thought he would he looked like he was wearing Brock down. If he faces Mir again I believe Mir would be facing a Different man who would not fall into a Submission so easily.

I have not seen Nogueira fight so I can't really say anything about him.

Kris P Lettus 11-18-2008 02:09 PM

He is going to fight the winner of Mir/Big Nog..

I'd like to see him fight Gonzaga though.. Gabe is a big guy, who is a powerful striker and awesome in BJJ.. That type of fighter (which describes Gonzaga, Mir, and Nog) would prolly be the biggest threat to Lesnars skills right now..

Nark Order 11-18-2008 02:09 PM

Well, the winner of Nog/Mir is going to be his next opponent. IMO, if Nog wins then Lesnar has some terrible odds.

Nark Order 11-18-2008 02:10 PM

Bah, Krispy beat me to it.

Kris P Lettus 11-18-2008 02:11 PM

Nog can take a beating and still pull a win..

Savior, with your poll question, and this thread in general, do you even follow MMA??

Nark Order 11-18-2008 02:11 PM

Also, I'd like to see him face Chiek Kongo. I think Lesnar would take this but I'd like to see if he'd stand with him.

Kris P Lettus 11-18-2008 02:13 PM

Kongo isn't big enough to stuff Brocks shot.. He is an excellent striker but I think Brock would be able to easily take him down and dominate on the ground..

Kris P Lettus 11-18-2008 02:14 PM

Fedor said he'd be interested in a fight with Lesnar.. If lesnar beats the winner of Mir/Nog then I'd think Dana will push to get Fedor in there.. Prolly would fight Couture first, but he'd get a shot at the title with in 3 fights in UFC..

Nark Order 11-18-2008 02:15 PM

I completely agree but the way it seems that Brock has been training his stand-up lately, I'll bet he's soon going to be relying less on his wrestling. I wonder if he'd fight a standup fight with him.

Nark Order 11-18-2008 02:17 PM

I'd say if you really want a fight, let Lesnar have a year or so before unleasing Fedor on him. He's learning alot in such a short amount of time, I shudder to think how good he'll be in a year or two.

Savio 11-18-2008 02:25 PM

lightly yes, I can change the topic title.

Well yeah.. It'll be late next spring before his next fight happens.. If Fedor comes in, I'm sure he'll get Couture first just cause that is a dream match that everyone wants.. How I see it playing out, if any of this happens:

this winter-Mir/Nog

late spring-Lesnar/winner

early summer-Fedor/Couture

next fall-Fedor/Lesnar

If they win those fights and whatnot..

Nark Order 11-18-2008 02:31 PM

That's probably assuming Lesnar beats Mir or Nog though. If Fedor comes in, he'll prob face Couture then whoever the champ is. I'm sure he'll fight Lesnar regardless eventually though.

Kris P Lettus 11-18-2008 02:33 PM

Yeah, that's just how I see it playing out in my head..

Like Lesnar or not, the HW division is like 100x better than it was a year ago..

Nark Order 11-18-2008 02:36 PM

For sure.

Kris P Lettus 11-18-2008 02:41 PM

I mean, if they go after guys like Fedor, Barnett, Arlovski, Rothwell, etc, it could be just as deep as LHW..

Savio 11-18-2008 02:45 PM

lol, Wow, did some research and this is what this TUF series is about. Don't get to watch to much TV. Still feel ashamed though.

Jamstar 11-18-2008 02:46 PM

Carwin/Lesnar would be great. 2 giant beasts and I think Carwin's standup is pretty comparable if not better than Lesnars.

What TUF is what brought MMA into the mainstream like 5 years ago.. Stars like KenFlo, Forrest Griffin, Bannar, Koscheck, Leban, Quary, Rashad, Jardine, etc etc etc have all come from it..

El Fangel 11-18-2008 03:02 PM

Would love to see Chucky take on Lesnar myself.

Nark Order 11-18-2008 03:03 PM

What? Liddell?

Kongo refused to fight Lesnar twice.

Nark Order 11-18-2008 03:15 PM

I thought this was due to an injury?

Liddell
Hughes
St. Pierre

^ Favorite Fighters, so I would love to see Liddell beat his ass.

Kris P Lettus 11-18-2008 03:19 PM

If Liddell made HW, he would be around 225lbs.. He has a great sprawl but Lesnar would destroy him..

Nark Order 11-18-2008 03:27 PM

Fallen Angel, Chuck Liddell would not win that fight.

El Fangel 11-18-2008 03:44 PM

I never said I thought he WOULD win, I am saying I would love to see it. I think Chuck would hold his own at least.

Seriously I would never wish to know what a straight punch from Lesnar would feel like.

Destor 11-18-2008 05:16 PM

LOL @ Fangle

Loose Cannon 11-18-2008 05:19 PM

Rampage would be cool. Are they in the same class though? I think Lesnar is above, right?

Destor 11-18-2008 05:20 PM

Nah. Rampage is in the Lightheavy division.

Loose Cannon 11-18-2008 05:21 PM

yea, I never know where anybody is. Probably need a quick weight class guide thread. lol

Destor 11-18-2008 05:24 PM

The UFC currently uses five weight classes:

Lightweight: 145 to 155 lb (67 to 70 kg)
Welterweight: 156 to 170 lb (71 to 77 kg)
Middleweight: 171 to 185 lb (78 to 84 kg)
Light Heavyweight: 186 to 205 lb (85 to 93 kg)
Heavyweight: 206 to 265 lb (94 to 120 kg)

Destor 11-18-2008 05:24 PM

Or are you wanting a list of fighters in said weight classes?

Destor 11-18-2008 05:25 PM

If it's the latter that could be REALLY cool.

Loose Cannon 11-18-2008 05:25 PM

yea, the latter post

Mr. JL 11-18-2008 05:41 PM

I think Big Nog will be a huge problem for Brock Lesnar.

HeartBreakMan2k 11-18-2008 06:40 PM

Nog, Gabe, and Fedor.

Kris P Lettus 11-18-2008 07:02 PM
