I've become an Orton fan

Ever since he came back from his injuries, he's been on fire. His promos don't make me want to punch babies as much anymore, and his in ring work has never been better.

That and his entrance music has grown on me.

Destor 12-17-2008 02:37 PM

Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Innovator 12-17-2008 02:39 PM

Hell, his field goal of destruction is so fierce, it made Punk forget all about being a world champion

GD 12-17-2008 02:44 PM

Punk did the Master degree first and went back to do his bachelor's degree.

The Franchise 12-17-2008 04:40 PM

I've been a fan of Orton since like Summerslam 2007. He's been really good.

Splaya 12-17-2008 04:57 PM

I've been a fan of Orton since he debuted.

So suck it

St. Jimmy 12-17-2008 05:06 PM

Orton is the goods. He needs to win the rumble.

The Franchise 12-17-2008 05:08 PM

Orton winning the rumble and facing Cena at Mania where a double-turn takes place would be the best thing ever. I know a few people have suggested this here and you're awesome for that. :D

Fox 12-17-2008 05:23 PM

His interactions with the other members of Legacy have been quite good, slapping them around and what not.

He's still got the most boring heel style I've ever seen though.

Team Sheep 12-17-2008 06:07 PM

Orton is awesome. I love his entrance music, and his slow walk to the ring, whilst staring at his opponent in that sick manner, and just sly looking as fuck. It's great. And his new tattoos just make him look even more badass.

BigDaddyCool 12-17-2008 06:49 PM

I'm unimpressed.

Juan 12-17-2008 07:02 PM

I'm sure I've said this before, but Orton (and the Legacy) is one of the best things on Raw.

:y:

I'm beginning to think that nothing ever impresses BDC, no matter how good it is.

I just impressed BDC.

Jeritron 12-17-2008 08:51 PM

I would say I'm less interested in Orton as I have ever been. It's not that I hate Orton, I enjoyed him immensely during his Evolution days, and during the RatedRKO days. I also loved his "kick in the head" heel run over the summer of 07 all the way through his title win.
Since his return though, I haven't given a shit. Whenever he's gone for a while, he loses a lot of heat and momentum.
Once again, he's no Edge (here comes the debate)

TPWW wishes Innovator well in his future endevors.:wtf:

RKO is a pompus arrogant asshole.Thinkls everything should be for him.

 I'm just sayin'.

And I like his song "Voices".:shifty:

Ironballs 12-17-2008 09:35 PM

Orton and Jericho are the two reasons I keep watching Raw on a weekly basis. Their recent work has been fantastic.

The finish to the Team Batista/ Orton match at Survivor Series was worth the price of admission alone. Orton is the goods.

Lux 12-17-2008 11:31 PM

Orton = the goods, fuck you who doesn't agree.

Looking at you BobBitchen

screech knows whats up.

El Fangel 12-17-2008 11:41 PM

Orton is over with me.

screech 12-17-2008 11:47 PM

As much as I want Orton to be WHC, I feel like that would spell the end for The Legacy. It might start out as "I have gold, now you guys go out and get some," at which point Manu could go for the IC belt and Ted/CAWdy could regain the tag belts and they could run the show. But realistically I can't see that happening. I can see it going sour, with either the youngins getting jealous and turning on him, or Orton ditching them because he got what he wanted.

I know that's completely ridiculous, but it stems from me loving Orton and me not wanting Cena to have the big gold belt.

Yeah, but unlike the Evolution thing, I wouldn't have Orton become a "ladies man." Christ that was shit. It would have been okay if they didn't alter his char...never mind. I don't wanna go there again.

Also with Evolution, there were three good wrestlers in HHH, Flair, and Batista (at the time he was decent in the ring). The Legacy has Ted (awesome), Manu (better than just good, but not overly stellar if that makes any sense), and CAWdy (sucks). It would be a good idea for a face turn, but in my opinion Ted is the only one of the three who would achieve great success from it.

Also if/when Sim Snuka joins the stable, I hope CAWdy is thrown to the back burner. Man I can't stand him.

I gotta feeling that The Legacy will end up beating Sim down after they "discover" that he's not a 'pureblood' due to him being adopted.

thedamndest 12-18-2008 01:30 AM

Has Manu even had a singles match yet? I have a feeling it will be tough for him to branch out because he comes from a long line of Samoan homogeny. CAWdy shouldn't have a problem; they've probably shown at least a PPV's worth of Dusty clips in the last few years and if Goldust still works their then take a look at your next head of Legacy.

Nark Order 12-18-2008 01:34 AM

Thed, Manu had a match against Batista a couple weeks ago in which he lost cleanly.

Remember Umaga?

Lux 12-18-2008 01:51 AM

No

thedamndest 12-18-2008 02:20 AM

I remember Umaga. He's actually a regression on the Samoan evolution scale, if you consider Rikishi.

I hate it when I see silly people say stuff like 'OMG BRING BACK THE ATTITUDE ERA'!

How the crap can you 'bring it back'?

Rest of what I've quoted is ridiculous and the stuff of chat rooms for wrestling streams that we've all come to know and mock.

Kane Knight 12-18-2008 10:38 AM

Orton hasn't really changed much. For better or worse.

BigDaddyCool 12-18-2008 10:53 AM

I've just never been an Orton fan. Also, things to impress me, just there hasn't been a lot of impressive things in wrestling.

I was going to say something, but I decided just to respond to his comment on my post.

Kane Knight 12-18-2008 12:55 PM

Honestly, I think despite his flaws, Orton probably should have been a serious champion by now. You know, if he wasn't a douchebag and a moron. Most of his depushes are his own damn fault (And some of the injuries probably are, too), especially since he has spent so much time thinking he was beyond reproach. Orton probably cold have got away with a lot of this shit, even, had he not alienated the other douchebags.

Despite being kinda lame on the mic, he's got decent charisma. Despite being kinda weak on the mat, he's good enough to rival most of the other main eventers (Snooze Batista, John "Even my five moves of doom are boring" Cena and "I only have one expression" Edge.

Mr. Nerfect 12-19-2008 12:21 AM

Randy Orton has something going for him at the moment. He's connecting better with the crowds, and it doesn't feel like the boat has sailed on him, like it did after he initially lost the World Heavyweight Title to Triple H, and found himself without much going for him in the years that followed.

I don't think he's good enough to be World Heavyweight Champion. Well, at least for there to be a need to put the belt on him right now. Not when you have guys like Chris Jericho and Shawn Michaels on the same brand. There are a bunch of other guys that I'd also put ahead of Orton in ability terms, and in being able to interest me, but I won't go too much into it.

This Legacy thing has been fun. I love the way that Cody Rhodes and Manu aren't taking any of his shit, and they're being elevated to look almost like equals to Orton.

I'm thinking Orton finds his way into the WrestleMania title scene again this year, most likely in a Triple Threat against John Cena and Batista. I'd rather he faced Ted DiBiase, or something like that, though.

D Mac 12-19-2008 01:55 AM

That longer ice cold stare he does now is fucking bad ass.

D Mac 12-19-2008 01:56 AM

Orton/Austin Staredown match at Wrestlemania!
