What did you think of the DDP vs Goldberg match at Halloween Havoc 98?

I apparently FELT. THE. BANG.

Who even cared, by than WCW sucked and WWF was kicking its ass.

If its the match I'm thinking of off the top of my head, it was epic and I loved it. One of the last good memories of WCW and one of my few good memories of Goldberg.

One of my top mark out moments ever is when DDP reversed the jackhammer into the diamond cutter.

Exactly. You'd never hear that now, anywhere, no matter what was going on.

DDP should have gone over in a classic match. WCW was so late on giving DDP the belt that people quit caring about DDP, and DDP was the fucking man.

My only other Goldberg matches I remember going crazy over was vs Hogan on Nitro and vs Sting on Nitro (the match where Sting was gonna make him tap out but the damn nWo interfered).

Def at least 4 stars. Good match.

Well, I didn't have that kind of cable to watch RAW or Nitro, so all I had was that WCW Saturday Night Replay Show, can't remember the name though. Anyone remember the name?

There was WCW Saturday night, a wrestling program. and WCW World Wide wich came on Sunday mornings. DUNNO. WWF had saturday night shows though...

Maybe it was WCW Saturday Night... I dunno.

At the time I was a HUGE Page fan, and was psyched since he became #1 Contender. Only disappointment was that he lost.

The Goldberg/Page match was in fact left off of the PPV due to Hogan/Warrior running over. As a result, WCW showed the WCW Championship match the following night on Nitro as their main event; a show which pulled in a 7.18 rating, beating WWF RAW is WAR for the night.

So yeah. WWF was better at this point, I'll give you that, but this was long before the WWF was "kicking WCW's ass."


The match, I might add, is fucking amazing. Your post makes you out to be quite the jackass.

That is Goldberg's greatest match ever. Goldberg's matches never had the psychology and emotion combined like it was in that. That was an insane crowd in Las Vegas.
