Tim and Eric are so awlful...
...yet they keep getting guess starts like Jack Black, John C. Reilly, and Jeff Goldman to star in their stuff. They haven't even been around that long in the business so I can't even say they owe them favors or anything.
For those who don't know who I'm talking about, they're the guys who brought us the craptastic shows "Tom Goes to The Mayor" and "Tim and Eric's Awesome Show" on Adult Swim. |
Tom goes to the mayor was excellent, most of the time. Awesome show Great Job! only has one or two moments per ep that make me laugh, if that.

I love it. Never liked Tom Goes to the Mayor though. But Tim and Eric is fantastic in every way. |
Those shows are terrible and so are those two guys.

I didn't like Tom Goes to the Mayor at first, but it grew on me. First season is the weakest, BTW.

Yeah. I've chuckled a little at some of the Awesome Show stuff, but it's mostly just like... "stop trying so hard to be weird, guys"
Never found Tom Goes to the Mayor to be entertaining at all, though. |

Kevin ferrera (sp?) from AotS once said something like "those who get will love it and those who don't will say wtf?" This made me start watching it again to see what I failed to get. I still haven't figured it out. I dunno what I'm "not getting" but this show is probably the most unentertaining thing I have ever seen.
Someone please tell me what I "fail" to understand that can make this not suck. |

It is surreal humor. When I watch it I feel like I am "tripping out". It is sort of "anti-art" if I wanna be pretentious and gay about it. There is nothing to explain. It is just absurd shit. Some people will like it, some will not. It is kind of like David Lynch's movies. Some people love them because they are surreal and experimental and different, a lot of people hate them because they don't like things that are "weird". Basically I am saying I am better than you because I like it.

There is nothing that surreal about Tom Goes to the Mayor, tho. It's just a guy constantly getting himself in hilariously bad situations. And as the rapist guy pointed out, a mockery of shitty public access tv.
