Mickey Henson has cancer

From Rajah.com...

-- As noted earlier, referee Mickey Henson was recently released by World Wrestling Entertainment. Henson had taken a leave absence due to a health related issue. It is now coming out that Henson is suffering from lymphoma, a form of cancer. Henson had largely kept his illness quiet, only telling a few friends (including Batista, who he is close to), along with John Laurinaitis and Vince McMahon. WWE reportedly promised Henson employment
while he battled cancer since he didn't have health insurance.

You know, it shouldn't shock me, but douche move on WWE's part if this is all true.

I doubt it..obviously his release was a cost effective method for WWE, so I doubt they'll be paying him if they were cold enough to fire him.

I am pretty sure there is a degree of severance pay. And my mother had Lymphoma. True story.

Anyone want to stop to ponder the notion that this might actually be amicable?

I'm not defending WWE's principles, just saying that we might want more info before we bitch about them.

Maybe?

It possibly is, but WWE's track record in these situations doesn't help them in public opinion...

DAWN MARIE: I'm pregnant!

VINCE McMAHON: You're fired.

TEST: I'm injured!

VINCE McMAHON: You're fired.

...I could go on, mentioning guys in rehab (Holly), 30 year loyal employees (Slaughter), and others I can't even think of. Mickey Jay could possibly be looking for simpathy, but I wouldn't put it passed WWE to do this even if they knew.

Why do you expect IWC members to wait for facts before making decisions? :?:

Nah, Tedious can pull it off. You just sound like a self-righteous ass.

The WWE have gone out of their way to pay for guys in rehab, who have ever been under contract. While it wouldn't surprise me if they did fire Hensen, I can imagine the WWE continuing to pay the guy's medical bills.

I thought Test got fired for not being important enough to get a pass on steroid tests, and failing them repeatedly.

Nah, I'm a pretty humble guy, truth to be told. Ask anyone with human decency that talks to me.

At one stage he was definitely released because of an injury.

Wouldnt suprise me if vince did this. But i bet they pay his medical bills if it gets too public.

Exactly what do we have to go on to suggest that that hasn't already been arranged?
