Hall Of Fame Question

Being a long time sting fan, is there any chance that after he is retired that he could be inducted in the wwe hall of fame , I know he has never worked with them but after the wwe bought the wcw out will this come in to consideration ?

Xero 01-22-2009 08:37 PM

Anything can happen in the WWF!

KYR 01-22-2009 11:52 PM

OK. Assuming by your name and avatar that you're an Aussie, therefore not a retard.

As JR would say - "Highly unlikely".

The Mackem 01-23-2009 04:12 AM

Well Gordon Solie never worked for the WWE, did he? Plus, you've got people like Verne Gagne. He'll probably end up in it one day after he is retired.

BigDaddyCool 01-23-2009 05:20 PM

Not while Sting wrestles for TNA.

Jeritron 01-23-2009 07:53 PM

He'd not only have to be retired, but no longer able to compete. Before putting him in there, it'd need to be a sure thing that he wouldn't wind up on another product.

Also, once that's out of the way he has to be fortunate enough to be selected over other wrestlers who I'm sure will be eligible by then and more likely to go in due to their relationship with the company.

I know it's unrelated, but I'm confused why Steamboat isn't in yet. I know before it'd been that his ex-wife had the rights to that name, but that got settled over a year ago.

FourFifty 01-25-2009 11:16 PM

Haystack Calhoun will be in the Hall of Fame before Sting.

johnsmagic 01-26-2009 05:13 PM

well that was actually my second question, Do people think he deserves a spot in the hall of fame ?

Jeritron 01-26-2009 05:21 PM

Absolutely

Xero 01-26-2009 05:40 PM

Compared to a lot of the guys in the Hall of Fame, absolutely. If this was truly a best of the best type deal I think it would be debatable.

Jeritron 01-26-2009 06:12 PM

Yea, if they did one a year or something maybe he'd get sidelined. Since they do one big name main eventer, and a handful of other guys on top of that, he definitely deserves to be in.

Jeritron 01-26-2009 06:13 PM

Unless he agreed to wrestle a match that weekend though, I don't think he'd have any chance of getting in.

Like I said, only when he's old and grey enough to physically not be able to wrestle a match for any other promotion will it have any chance.

Xero 01-26-2009 06:47 PM

You think God would come out of retirement for a match with Sting?

Jeritron 01-26-2009 06:58 PM

He can't double book for Sting and HBM. If Sting and HBM had a match, God would feel like Miss Elizabeth when the Mega Powers faced off

FourFifty 01-26-2009 11:09 PM

Sting will not get into the WWE Hall of Fame until his TNA days are behind him, and WWE has an iron clad contract saying he won't step foot in the ring anymore.
While Sting has earned his spot, no doubt, it won't happen any time soon.

The Mackem 01-27-2009 10:07 AM

Yeah but in a way isn't that what the Hall of Fame should be about anyway. Plus the original question did state after he has retired. How soon on after he is retired depends on those who hold sway. If people like HBK, HHH, Austin, Undertaker and Flair were all pushing for it years down the line you would have to assume he would have a chance.

The Mackem 01-27-2009 10:08 AM

Oh yeah and if Shelton Benjamin ever marries Steph and becomes the new HHH, it will happen :D

There are lots of guys who i'm sure are going to get the nod in the next few years.

DiBiase
Davey Boy
Dynamite
Rick Rude
Honky Tonk Man
Savage
Jake roberts
Jim Neidhart
Bossman
Duggan
Backlund

Then guys like Inoki, Matsuda..... The Freebirds maybe? The Von Erichs? Jim Crocket? There are still alot of guys, just from the era I know about who are yet to be inducted. Steamboat is a shoe in anyway, he works for Vince.

A7X 01-27-2009 07:08 PM

Road Warriors ftw

Fabien Barthez 01-27-2009 07:37 PM

yeah, and Demolition.

Xero 01-27-2009 10:29 PM

I have a feeling Duggan's going in this year.

Stickman 01-28-2009 12:33 AM

Is there an actual, physical, Hall of Fame?

Xero 01-28-2009 12:34 AM

Not yet, but there's been talk for the past year or so to create one in either Florida or Connecticut.

Fabien Barthez 01-28-2009 07:28 AM

My hunch this year is one or more Von Erichs. With it being in Texas and all.

I wonder if they are still planning to do this what with all their cost cutting measures lately.

Jeritron 01-29-2009 06:58 PM

Orlando is probably the only place a year round gimmick like that could stay successful.

Xero 01-29-2009 07:19 PM

Imagine the angles TNA could run...
