Some good UK dance music?

Or Scandinavian, if that's what you like.

Recommend.

Bad Company 01-25-2009 12:56 AM

That's pretty damn open ended.
I'm guessing you're talking about electronica. What kind? Techno, Trance, House, Drum and Bass? There's shitloads.

El Vaquero de Infierno 01-25-2009 08:10 AM

Whigfield :shifty:

Na, try Alabama 3 (A3), some country-gospel-acid house music. Straight in the mainline.

Listen to that show every week. The tracklistings will be on the webpage as well. It really is the best overview of the biggest clubbing genres right now.

The Mackem 01-25-2009 12:54 PM

Deadmau5 is about my favourite thing in dance music at the moment, think he's Canadian though.

I tend to listen to the Mash up, Judge Jules, Pete Tong and even Scot Mills' floor fillers on Radio1 listen again when I'm at work.

The Mackem 01-25-2009 12:58 PM

Downloaded a class Australian MOS Progression compilation

Check out this: Dubfire - I Feel Speed

I downloaded Ghosts n Stuff by Deadmau5 and I like it, but I'm more into the ones with vocals as well. As terrible as it sounds I remember Boogie2Night by BootyLuv one of my favorites when I was there. Stuff like that. Party All the Time by Sharam, DANCE by Justice, stuff like that.

Didn't really know what to expect from him live but I'll take your word for it. Good tracks at least.

Any Deadmau5 collaborations with Kaskade are FUCKING MONEY.

Check out "I remember" or my fav track of the year "Move for me"

Any great vocal track is Every Word by Ercola ft Danilla. Probably my favourite song in the past 5 years.

Fabien Barthez 02-08-2009 07:26 PM

I went to see Erol Alkan spin last night. Check out the torrents for his Mixmag CD's, or any of his radio 1 essential mixes. Proper bouncy-house rave music.

If anyone even thinks about mentioning NDubz (except for that one mention) I may have to kill someone.

Some real club music.

Live from 2020 in Bournemouth in November last year. A-Trak - from Montreal. the best DJ I have ever seen. I saw him at Glasto, I didn't know hands and ears could work like that. 2nd Hour is Erol Alkan. London DJ. A legend of the house/rave scene for the last 10 years.

Loved that when I first heard it, loved the fact that it was in this set. Rep for you Fabien

BCWWF 02-13-2009 02:40 PM

To clarify, since making this first thread I have a few more specifics.

The show I hear on Friday and love is Scott Mills' Friday Floor Fillers on Radio 1. It's on when I come home from work, and while some of it is just Top 40 songs remixed, there is some good dance music as well.

Tinchy Stryder "Take me Back" is probably the song that I would use as an example of what I like though.

Fabien Barthez 02-14-2009 11:24 AM

You can't go contradicting the title of the thread with the substance.

I understood what you say you liked, and I am trying to steer you in the direction of some much better stuff.

Mackem, I will see what I can find for when you get to work on Monday. :y:

Fabien Barthez 02-16-2009 10:54 AM

2ManyDJ's from Creamfields last year. I remember sitting around a fire at Leeds Festival, listening to this play out, whilst going switzie on my jebend.

Make of that what you will.

Lee Burridge is headed to my city this Saturday. Can't wait! Seen him a few times and hasn't disappointed.

BCWWF 02-20-2009 02:48 PM

What about Fedde le Grand. He was huge and hilarious when I was there in 2007.

Gertner 02-22-2009 04:26 PM

lol stupid faggot ginos ruined Fedde Le Grand for me. I went to one of his shows and it was packed with fake ass John Gotti's. You pretty much get that with any dj's who have a crossover hit ala Benny Benassi "satisfaction".

Gertner 02-27-2009 01:05 AM

going to see Kaskade in April. Haven't been this excited in a while for a show.

The Mackem 04-08-2009 11:09 AM

How was that? Only know some of the tracks through Deadmau5 remixes.

BCWWF 04-09-2009 01:00 PM

Paul Van Dyke is coming here, randomly. Used to listen to him in high school.

Gertner 04-12-2009 02:59 AM

Kaskade next friday!!!!!!!! Pretty pumped.

Gertner 04-17-2009 10:11 PM

KASKADE TONIGHT!!!!!

The Mackem 07-20-2009 08:13 AM

Eddie Halliwell on Saturday was amazing

Gertner 07-20-2009 12:17 PM

Ferry Corsten is coming to my city September 3rd. Pretty jacked. I've seen Ferry about half a dozen times at least and never leave disappointed.

Fabien Barthez 07-20-2009 12:58 PM

I went to Sankeys on Friday after the gig I had in Manchester to see Dubfire. Ruthless techno.

Worth checking out the essential mix from Friday night on bbc site, Dubfire b2b with Richie Hawtin and LocoDice/Magda.

Gertner 07-20-2009 01:45 PM

I can not for the life of me get into Richie Hawtin, even though he's a local legend(born in Windsor Ontario). Dubfire is kinda hit or miss with me. I saw him do a live set in Toronto and was bored to tears. Saw him in Windsor 2 months later and loved it.

It depends what side of dance you like really. Basslines and melodies or continuous rhythm. Techno is not for everybody.

Dubfire is usually different depending on how long his set is. The shorter ones are more varied whereas the longer ones are a lot more progressive. Listen to that essential mix though, it will appeal!
