I wish they had JBL tell Michaels that even though he failed JBL at the Royal Rumble, HBK would get a chance to redeem himself. Because he defeated John Cena the week before, he is the #1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship and will get to face Cena for the belt next week. When HBK wins the belt, he will forfeit it over to JBL.
Cena and HBK have another one of their good matches, and some interference from JBL, unbeknownst to Shawn Michaels, allows HBK to pin John Cena, and win his second World Heavyweight Championship. The following week sees JBL all grins, as he asks HBK to hand him the World Heavyweight Title. HBK does his depressed thing, and JBL reminds him what is at stake. HBK says he has a better idea. He challenges JBL to a match at No Way Out. It will be for the World Heavyweight Title. If JBL wins, then he wins the World Heavyweight Title, and HBK will be his loyal employee for good. If HBK wins, he not only retains the World Heavyweight Title, but JBL gives him the money he promised him anyway. He asks JBL what he really stands to lose. JBL is about to say no, but HBK reminds him that he doesn't need to hand him the World Heavyweight Title, and asks JBL how much it really means to call yourself World Champion if you are just handed the belt. HBK says that it would be a good business move to prove he is World Heavyweight Champion material. JBL eventually agrees.
The two wrestle at No Way Out, and HBK gets the Sweet Chin Music for the clean win to retain the big gold belt. Happy ending for HBK, who then drops the belt in a rematch on RAW to John Cena, so the WWE can still do Cena vs. Orton (which has been building up personally like all this is still going on), and then HBK can challenge The Undertaker because he needs to prove that he can do anything at WrestleMania -- even ending The Undertaker's streak.
