Jerry Flynn

OK. I'm just wondering if anybody knows much about this guy? I don't, but in EWR I was looking to sign LYNN but couldn't, and saw this guys name. It sounds familiar but I don't recall seeing him in either of the big 3. Although I may be mistaken.

So basically, is he any good? Which promotions was he in? And is he still around?

Thanks

Mister Sinister 03-26-2004 06:20 AM

Jerry Flynn was in WCW, and if I'm not mistaken, Jobbed to Goldberg three times doing the whole Streak deal. Flynn was decent I guess, He was a Martist Art/Submission like Wrestler who used the Cross Arm Breaker as a Finisher, His only real Highlight was being apart of Jimmy Hart First Family, However on a good note, He was trained by the Great Dean Malenko

Jerry Flynn has been around for a long time. He wrestled quite
a bit over in Japan, with SWS (and with other promotions). He
worked with WCW from the mid-90's right on through about the
time of their closing. Like Helmsphere said,he had a "feud" with
Goldberg, and later on with Tank Abbott..

He was mainly a high class enhancement talent,if you will. As a
performer he wasn't all that bad,but wasn't all that good either.
Basically, average. In addition to WCW,and a lot of work over in
Japan,he worked for WWC Puerto Rico on occasion, and he main
evented there a few times. Also (IIRC) he did a bit of 'job work' in
WWF in the earlier 90's,as did most WCW enhancement.

Also,I don't know if he is still around or not. I haven't heard anything
about him since the closure of WCW,but that doesn't mean that he's
not working. Most of the guys moved on to actual careers (as they'd
have to to make a living - unless they were guys like Nash,etc...),so
I would assume he has a 9 to 5 somewhere.

Yeah, he was a jobber 90% of the time in WCW, but he was actually not bad. I remember he had this awful mullet too. :D

Who is Blitzrieg?

CANADIAN 03-26-2004 05:22 PM

Blitzkrieg is an amazing wrestler.

KayfabeMan 03-26-2004 06:59 PM

What CANADIAN said, but if you'd like me to elaborate I will.

The Mackem 03-26-2004 07:04 PM

yeah, please.

KayfabeMan 03-26-2004 08:02 PM

Blitzkrieg is a rare case of a white dude being able to compete with
the luchadors on an even playing field.Blitzkrieg was just as good,if
not better, than a lot of the Mexican workers. He started out in Cali-
fornia working indy shows, and was found by WCW.After doing some
work in WCW (I believe for around a year),he went back to working
in CA,before disappearing from wrestling, and I believe working with
computers.

He had some really fantastic matches in WCW,with everyone from
Juventud Guerrera,to Rey Mysterio Jr.,to Psychosis,to Damien and
El Dandy. To check out some of his stuff, gotta look at some Nitro
and Thunder episodes from 1999,or (IIRC) the only PPV he worked,
Spring Stampede 1999.

Mister Sinister 03-26-2004 09:27 PM

He had a great PPV Showing against Juventud Guerrera at Spring Stampede 99.

CANADIAN 03-29-2004 11:43 PM

He would be a great asset to the X Division.

Jerry Flynn was in ECW too I believe. Not sure though.

Flynn is very underrated.

Fox 04-04-2004 05:47 PM

Flynn was extremely boring in the ring and never actually had a future in this business.

Think of him as the Steve Blackman of WCW.
