TEW is Complete
I realise there is an official wrestling sim topic, but that topic appears to be more directed towards publishing card results, so I thought I would use this topic to tell anyone who didn't already know, that Adam Ryland has announced that TEW has gone Gold i.e. all coding and testing is complete.
|
This is the one that is going to cost money, isn't it?
|
Yeah, it's like 30 bucks I think. I'm not entirely sure I feel like paying that. Maybe once I land a steady job and quit being a poor bastard.
|
lol who cares if it costs money or not. It'll get leaked onto the internet anyway

I would buy it if I could though, He started from a simple idea, built little free games and has been for the past few years, He has given us (the people that play the game) a new style of Wrestling Game... I think now that he has a professional company behind him, he deserves the money. That might not make alot of sense, but it's pretty late and i'm tired. |
Yeah I'm going to buy it for that reason Hired Hitman. Gonna wait until next week because that company that does the updates won't have them ready yet I doubt.
Plus if nobody bought the game it's likely that he wouldn't bring another one out and that would, well, suck. |
Oh yeah and if Dave Youell isn't on the game, people die.
|
I was reading through the Official TEW Forums and I found this...
Q: What will prevent this game from being shared on P2P sites? A: It's quite a complicated situation.. The actual .exe file can be shared throughout the internet via P2P clients.. however, it won't be playable. Once the registration code has been put in on a person's game file, it's sent through a server (and also saved to your computer) which identifies it as "registered" thus making the code void for anybody else. So even if you put the folder with all of its "unlocked" contents on there, the eLicense Control won't be installed on that other person's computer, which will ultimately result in an unplayable game. hmmm... |
What's $40 converted? £20 ish?
|
|
Yeah apparently, you only get one license of the game per buy. Meaning one registered copy of the game per PC.
If you want to use the same copy on, say, a laptop. You won't need to buy it again. But unregister and reregister it each time you want to change PCs. You also need to unregister if you format. |
I'm sure someone will unfortunately hack it.. someone always does.
|
<font color=goldenrod>Damn, this password-protected code thing makes pirating it look impossible. :(
Don't get me wrong, I'd buy the thing, but I have a serious lack of money. Ah well, no TEW for me.</font> :( |
lol. There will always be a way around it. Someone or some group will make an attempt to hack/crack the game or whatever. Hey i am not saying I am going to do it but thats still the fact that someone will try to do it. I'll probably buy it myself as well.. Just remember anything is possible on the internet and almost anything is always cracked/pirated on the net.
|
Sucks it costs money.
|
<font color=goldenrod>I heard that upon release, they will also release a 1-day demo.
You can have the demo on your computer as long as you want, but once you open it the 24 hour limit starts. I'll definately give the game a try, but I really think that only 1 day is a bit cheap. I think there should've been a 3-5 day demo, possibly even 7 days.</font> |
Yeah I'm thinking about trying the demo, I'm just thinking when the best time to open the file would be though so that I get the best use out of it. Hmmm, I might buy the game on Wednesday, anyway.

It looks great, however with all of those features, the trial period should be longer. It took me longer than a day to get completely used to the last EWR's, much less one with this many options.
|
It's going to use fictional wrestlers right?
|
Yeah, but there will be roster patches that have real wrestlers.
|
Yeah from RaveX they'll probably realease the first one soon but keep on updating.
|
I'll buy that.
And for you cheap bastards, there will probably be a keygen somwehere, but I want to support Adam. |

Hmmm... looking at the screen shots, the game looks mighty interesting. I especially like the fan breakdown (casual, hardcore, pure, old school, etc.) and the more detailed story lines (one screenshot seems to have a bounty scenario, a la Race v. Flair).
The only thing I don't like is the fictional wrestlers. There better be some mighty nice patches out there, though, because more than half the joy of EWR was tracking down pictures from obscure wrestlers on the internet. And I don't mind paying, since EWR was more entertaining and absorbing than almost all of my other games I have on my PC. |
Yeah, the one thing really keeping me from getting it is the all fictional wrestlers thing. I understand the reason, but with all the EWR's, I was always WWE pretty much. Just because I know who the wrestlers are and it makes it easier for me to use the guys. I really suck at the booking, so using guys I've never heard of is not my thing.
But like what was stated, there will prolly be patches and stuff, so I'll wait for some reactions to it then consider buying it. I'd like to support Adam as well. |
Yeah, but it's cool how you can create & Edit just about everything.
|
I'm looking forward to starting a promotion in the UK, putting Dave youell in the game and making King Jericho job to him :)
|
I garuntee there will be a crack to make the demo playable forever within a few weeks, let alone cracks to not have to regester to play, etc.
I'd still consider buying the game depending on the reviews. |
Fake wrestlers?
 So will the patches cost anything? |
Well he can't exactly have real wrestlers, cos then he has copyright issues
The patches will be available Here Game is released on Wednesday |
Oh and they don't cost anything
|
I think i'll try the demo first, although I must say, it does look rather sexual :y:
|
It says here that so far the WWE updates are not done as of yet.
If I do decide to get this, I'll probably just use the default database first for abit. |
They will get it done
The data involved in TEW is so in-depth its gonna take a while |
There's going to be a lot to the game but it's going to have quicker loading times that EWR.
It's going to be one hell of a game. *offers Dave Youell 100% of all Dave Youell related merchandise sales* |
Looks pretty good. Once it's leaked and hacked I'll get it that way because there's no way I'm going to buy a $35 visual basics project that only gives me a day to try. If I like it after a while, then I will consider making a purchase, but I'm not going to throw $35 out on just one day of playing.

The minimum requirements are as follows:
"Minimum Requirements Operating System: Windows 95/98/ME with English language settings CPU: Pentium II (or equivelant) 500mhz or higher Memory: 128MB RAM Hard Disk Space: 50MB for install, additional space for saved games Audio System: Windows compatible sound card Video System: 1024x768 display capable of running 16-bit color or higher Optimal System Requirements Operating System: Windows 2000 or XP CPU: Pentium III class (or equivelant) 2.00 ghz or higher Memory: 512 MB RAM or higher Video System: 1024x768 display capable of running 32-bit color mode Please note that in order to play with every game area activated, you must meet the optimal system requirements. If you are only meeting the minimal requirements, you may find that you need to deactivate two or more areas in order to cut down the loading times." So it'll run on most machines, but quite slowly. It'll load faster if you turn off some parts of the game, such as Japan, which is a large section of the game world. If you're still not sure whether you can handle the game on your PC, you can test it during the 1 day trial of TEW, which is available to everyone |
