unless, maybe it's telling you to register your copy of windows...which, I'd advise against. You give them your email, which they sell to every other Tom, Dick, or Harry that's willing to pay for it. THEN, you get 346596079574670 spam emails a day.

This is a mistake I can gladly say I will NEVER EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVER do again. :(

I highly doubt that Microsoft is in such a financial crisis that they have to resort to selling your personal details.

I don't think they are either, but this has already happened to me when I registered XP Home edition. Even if they're not financially in need, I'm sure they cut corners wherever they can to avoid costs.

The only program I've bothered registering is Norton Anti-Virus (used to get random spam messages, but I got them to stop).
