TPWW Power 25 Week ending 2/14/09
Happy Valnetines Day The Miz, you beat the odds and knocked Cena down...wait, the Miz!?!?!?!?! I talleid it up right, what with Miz having a winning effor on 2 shows, plus winning a non-title match against Primo and Carlito...though still, something makes feel dirty with Poochy at #1. Here is the list:
1. The Miz - 11.5 - World Tag Team Champion 2. James Storm - 11 - TNA Tag Champion 3. John Morrison - 10.5 - World Tag Team Champion 4. Awesome Kong - 9 - TNA Knockouts Champion 4. John Cena - 9 - World Heavyweight Champion 4. Robert Roode - 9 - TNA Tag Champion 7. Sting - 7 - TNA World Champion 8. The Undertaker - 6.5 9. Alex Shelley - 6 - TNA X Division Champion 9. CM Punk - 6 - I.C. Champion 9. Edge - 6 - WWE Champion 9. Maryse - 6 - WWE Diva's Champion 13. Beth Phoenix - 5.5 13. MVP - 5.5 15. Scott Steiner - 5 16. Brother Ray - 4 16. Melina - 4 - WWE Women's Champion 16. Shelton Benjamin - 4 - US Champion 16. Christian - 4 16. Finlay - 4 21. The Brian Kendrick - 3.5 22. Booker T - 3 22. Carlito - 3 - WWE Tag Team Champion 22. Jack Swager - 3 - ECW Champion 22. Primo - 3 - WWE Tag Team Champion |
You should really change it so beating mid carders/jobbers/main eventers have different point totals, otherwise your list is going to be ass. But whatever.
The Dest has a point.

Heyman's list after No Way Out: 1) Edge 2) Triple H 3) Randy Orton 4) Undertaker 5) Rey Mysterio 6) John Cena 7) Jeff Hardy 8) Chris Jericho 9) Big Show 10) Shawn Michaels Or something along those lines. |
It goes by points according wins and losses Heyman, it's not just a random list
Yeah, unlike wrestling in general, BDC has tried to put actual logic into it. You can see wrasslin and logic don't mix.
I am still having a hard time understanding this whole points thing. Doesn't seem like it is making sense the way it is set up

2) I award points through wins and losses, ppv appearences, and titles held also I include TNA. 3) Edge and HHH will probably shoot up this week in the ranking. |

Actaully, I like my list because Beth Phoenix is ranked above Melina. Why do I like this, and why is it important? Because Melina is Women's Champion. Beth has beaten Melina in non-title tag matches 2 weeks in a row, thus Beth looks stronger than Melina and it is reflected that way in the ranks.
If Triple A doesn't understand the ranks, it is possible because we have 3 way tie for 4th place. So after that, the next rank would be 7th place. Then there is a 4 way tie for 9th. Which means the next rank would be 13th place. |
Of course, this is still early. In a few months everything should even out by then.
Plus Batista will be back, he is always booked strong.
BTW, if you are wondering where Micheal's is, he has been losing, so he is on the bottom of the list. This list favor's champions and people who are constantly winning. I might retool it so people aren't punished as much for losing, and figure out a way to take point from people who aren't being booked.
I'm thinking of adding a being in a televised match to a bonus point. That way for winning a regular tv match, the wrestler gets 3 points, the loser get only -1 point, but we will see. I'm going to keep it this way for a month just to see how things turn out.

I think the bonus for having a title should be reduced, but points for a title defense should increase. There are rarely any title matches on any of the main shows nowadays. When was the last time Shelton defended the U.S. Title?
I give them a bonus for how many weeks they have been champion...but that should be retooled for successful title defences?
Maybe every 3-4 weeks they get a point or two for holding a title, but 4 points for every title defense plus the points for the victory.
Hmmm, I don't know, I'll think about it. You could aways make your own, and we could compare results.
Meh, I already contribute with the Tipsters. You're doing a good job. Keep it up. :y:
I'm probably going to go with this system till Mania, then work on retooling it. There are parts of it I don't like but I'm not sure how I would address it.

2 points for a mid carder 3 points for a main eventer There is no reason beating Funaki should have the same weight as beating HHH. WWE.COM's P25 > yours for this reason. They take into account the relevance of an action. By you system any time they bring in a monster Haas and have him squash locals he will be rocking the top of our list for monthes. Hell Chris Masters would have been on the top of this thing for the better part of half a year. |
You bring up an exellent point. My problem is how to we decide who is jobber, midcarder, or a maineventer? I mean Cena, HHH, those are easy picks, but what about Jericho, is he really a maineventer? I wouldn't want to decide who is at what rank by myself or everyone would say it is rigged.
Jericho is easily a main eventer.
How does this list work anyways???
If you want an easy definition of main eventer try this: they have to have main evented a ppv in a singles match.
That would have made Hardcore Holly a main eventer.
When?
No, I take it back. That was not the main event. And it was the Royal Rumble, which would have been the ME anyway.
So yeah, never happend.
I ALREADY SAID I TAKE IT BACK THERE'S NO NEED TO RUB IT IN YOU POOP FACE.
A clear definition of mid carder is tougher though. I mean clearl you could just use common sense but with BDC I need a little more. Someone who has had a match for a midcard title in the past 365 days?
AHA! I found an instance of Bob Holly Main Eventing a WWE PPV!
In a singles match?
Absolutely.

The final match shown on pay-per-view was for the WWF Championship, as Diesel defended the championship against Sycho Sid in a Lumberjack match. After back and forth action during the first few minutes, which included Sid being attacked by Diesel's lumberjacks and vice-versa, Diesel performed a suicide dive over the top rope onto all of Sid's lumberjacks.[2] The champion continued to attack Sid's lumberjacks, but King Mabel (who was scheduled to face the champion at SummerSlam) intervened, tossing Diesel into the steel steps on the outside.[1][9] Sid attempted to capitalize by performing his finishing move, the Powerbomb. Instead of pinning his opponent, Sid high fived his lumberjacks on the outside, allowing Diesel to recover and kick out at the two-count.[2][9] After a second attempted Powerbomb by Sid was countered, Sid attempted to attack Diesel's lumberjacks on the outside of the ring, but Diesel's lumberjacks attacked Sid all at the same time. Shawn Michaels finished off the assault on the outside, with a double axe handle off the top rope onto Sid.[9] Some of Sid's chosen lumberjacks, including Tatanka and Irwin R. Schyster attempted to interfere to stop Diesel winning, but Diesel fought them off. Diesel performed a big boot, pinning Sid to retain the WWF Championship. Diesel celebrated with his lumberjacks after the match ended.[1][2][9]
