Celtic fans: What are your opinions on the NBA selling green Laker tees with clovers?

Uh. the real question here is what Laker fans think of this bullshit. They are doing it for St. Patty's day. I guess the Lakers are supposed to be wearing green jerseys that day. I hope we lose if we do that. That is fucking retarded. I am going to neg rep you too right now.

They already did this with Chicago and New York so I don't see the big deal.

I've talked to a lot of Laker fans about it, and so far, only one Laker fan hasn't been offended by it. That one Laker fan saw it as taunting the Celtics. Anyhow, I pretty much know what Laker fanbase thinks, and now I was curious to read the thoughts of Celtic fans, and was wondering if they are offended by it.

It has nothing to do with Boston. That's the thing. It's just a marketing ploy for St Patrick's day to sell more merchandise. Baseball has been doing it for years. It's just coincidental that the NBA has a team that has a St Patrick's jersey all year round.

Nope, I post on a Laker board, and like yourself, the regs there have been ticked off about the shirt for almost a month now. I was actually thinking about buying it ONLY because while I can understand why some would be angry about the shirt, I can also see what that one poster was typing when they posted that the shirt might bother Celtic fans. So, I went on a few boards just to get opinions from that fan base only. If many of them were offended, I'd probably get the shirt and hat. As of right now, I haven't gotten many responses, but I just started. One hinted that he was bothered by it, another was pretty clear he didn't care for it, and two others were amused by it.

.....Course, now my cover is blown on this board, but there are others.

I don't like the idea of it, but I do look good in green. :naughty:

I'd be pissed if I were a Celtics fan. As a Laker fan though, I don't really have a problem with it. We owned them twice this season.

I decided not to get the green Laker shirt and hat. I don't wanna offend any of my fellow Laker fans by wearing green mixed in with the Laker logo. It's one thing to wear green for Saint Patrick's Day, but it's another thing to have your team inside the color of our most hated enemy. I doubt the makers meant no disrespect. At least I hope they didn't.

I love Saint Patrick's Day, Irish stuff, and green booze, but somethings in life shouldn't be put together, such as the Lakers logo, and the color green. Besides, I already have a Saint Patrick's Day shirt. It's all in green, and says FBI....Full-blooded Irish....even though I'm not fully blooded Irish. But it's alright. Anyhow, that will be the shirt I wear on March 17th. It's a pretty popular shirt with people. Various folks usually compliment the shirt when they see me wearing it.

Now as far as b-ball goes, if the Lakers play Boston again in the finals, I'll most likely be buying one, some, or all of the following shirts:

I think it's bullshit since they have a team in the league that uses that color scheme and logo. It's their gimmick.

It's one thing when baseball teams do it, since no Baseball team is primarily associated with the irish color scheme and logos.
But they shouldn't do it in the NBA for the reasons stated.
