Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection

This game rocks! Anyone else pick this up?

Kalyx triaD 02-19-2009 03:14 PM

No.

G 02-19-2009 04:00 PM

x2

Drakul 02-19-2009 04:05 PM

Is this the game with 40 or something games on it? I don't have it but I'll probably get it if I'm ever in a game store and I'm done with SFIV and GTA IV: TL&D etc.

Funky Fly 02-19-2009 07:45 PM

I got it ordered. It's got lots of good shit on there.

Xero 02-19-2009 07:46 PM

I was going to skip it, but holy shit, that is a fucking good list right there. Will pick it up eventually, no doubt.

Fryza 02-19-2009 07:48 PM

The only real complaint I have is that the two players games don't have online co-op.

Otherwise, for thirty bucks, this game is amazing.

Funky Fly 02-19-2009 08:16 PM

Hopefully they will patch online in.

UmbrellaCorporation 02-19-2009 10:52 PM

Ecco the Dolphin fuck yeah!

PapaGeorgio 02-19-2009 10:53 PM

Just bought it online.

Savio 02-19-2009 11:01 PM

Wow thats tight

Hornicane 02-20-2009 01:01 AM

That list is erection-inducing.

The Genius 02-20-2009 01:34 AM

picked it up last weekend. had a lot of these games back on the genesis but worth the nostalgia factor. i finally got past level 3 on ESWAT too, never could do that as a kid.

Hornicane 02-20-2009 01:55 AM

I'ma go dig up an emu of Ristar now. One of the best side scrollers from the 16-bit days IMO.

Crazy Nick 02-20-2009 02:23 AM

I will probably pick this up shortly after I get a PS3 in a few weeks.

Penner 02-20-2009 09:58 AM

That's awesome! I would definitely grab that.

G 02-21-2009 04:26 PM

I didn't know it was only $30. I quickly dismissed it because I thought it was a full $60. Also noticed that most of the achievements are very easy, so I will at least probably give it a rental.

Fignuts 02-24-2009 03:21 PM

Prolly gonna get this.

On a somewhat related note, when the fuck is sonic cd going to come to xbox live?

Kane Knight 02-24-2009 10:45 PM

Definitely interested.

Funky Fly 02-24-2009 11:02 PM

Well, I dunno if I should trade in my Sega Genesis Collection for PS2 because it has games this one doesn't and vice versa.

It's got Sword of Vermillion, Shadow Dancer: The Secret of the Shinobi, Future Spy, Tac/Scan and Zektor and the new one doesn't. :-\

Kane Knight 02-25-2009 12:30 AM

How are the graphics on an HDTV? Anyone? I just don't wanna buy the thing and find it's unplayable on my TV. I mean, I don't expect anything modern, just stuff that won't make my eyes bleed.

Funky Fly 02-25-2009 12:50 AM

Well the PS2 collection is fine. Can't tell you bout the new one because my copy an't here yet and y 360 is dead.

G 02-25-2009 11:49 AM

Jesus fuck, I went to Hollywood Video to see if they had it and they did. Had to sign up for a membership. This will be the last time I go there. $7.99 for a fucking rental? Seriously?

Rentals are $7 - 10 in Canada. Shut up.

It's the first game I rented in ages. Which explains why I was expecting it to be like $3.99.

Kalyx triaD 02-25-2009 07:27 PM

My brother's playing ESWAT right now. He hadn't touched that since he was a wee pup.

PorkSoda 02-25-2009 08:01 PM

Holy shit....

Any game with Streets of Rage, Sonic, Vectorman, Golden Axe, Bonanza Brothers, and Comix Zone in the same game is worth buying.

This whole thing is nostalgia, might as well just name it that.

Oh. I was like, "Wait, I pay that all the time...Which is why I don't rent shit anymore...."

PapaGeorgio 02-25-2009 08:22 PM

Mine came in mail other day. Also bought Guitar Hero World Tour from Circuit City closeout for cheap, so haven't had chance for Sonics yet. Mad excited for it though.

PorkSoda 02-25-2009 10:38 PM

Not to judge already, but shouldnt ToeJam and Earl, Road Rash, Paperboy, Mortal Kombat, and Robocop vs. Terminator be in there? There are some games they got on there that I haven't heard of or even played, like Congo Bongo, Alien Storm, Beyond Oasis, and Fatal Lybrinth.

BLAH

Beyond Oasis was fantastic. I still have that cart. But yeah, ToeJam and Earl should definitely have been included.

G 02-25-2009 11:55 PM

Guarantee I will not beat Mean Bean Machine. Fucking hate that game.

Hornicane 02-25-2009 11:58 PM

That game was bullshit.

Other than Toe Jam & Earl, none of those games are made by Sega themselves.

Is that what all the games in the collection have in common?

Funky Fly 02-26-2009 12:29 AM

Yes. Developed by sega

The Genius 02-26-2009 03:53 AM

decap attack is a suprisingly fun platformer. which is the best phantasy star game on there and how many hours do i expect to put into it?

Xero 02-26-2009 12:36 PM
