Better Theme #1 (Start of a HoF?)
 

The entrance music for a wrestler was once used to get the adrenaline pumping and to kick the audience to create an atmosphere.

Brett Hart's guitar screech, Stone Cold's glass smash, The Rock's "If you Smell...", Flair's "Woooo", Taker's bells... and for those in the know, Tugboats 'horn' (seriously, was his theme a midi file?)

Anyway, it's lost it's glory these days, although it's still around in some cases and is synonymous with a character.

So, based on the better wrestler and so on. Here we go.

I would like to propose a hall of fame. If a theme wins 5 in a row, it's the outright winner?

I've tried to go for some soft synthy styled 80's themes to get the ball rolling with The Midnight Express version of 'The Chase' vs Jake The Snake Roberts 'Snake Bit'. Whatever happens after this, happens. It's your call.

Jake, no question. An awesome theme that totally amplified the character. I always thought it was abominably stupid that they changed it when he turned heel (though that theme was pretty good too.)

The Midnight Express theme makes me think "Oh boy, here come some gays from the 80s."

Not actually saying that about the ME, mind, that's just what I get from their theme.

And I approve this, and it should be as close to Better Wrestler as possible in execution (aka, the opponents should get harder as a winner advances.)

Hmmm, I might not come up with the goods on that one 'cos how do u define what music is harder? The thing I see on this is that a clash of people's tastes will come in, which isn't a bad thing as it's what people like. But an element of the voting should be how well it suited the character too imo.

Well you're doing the threads so its up to you. It's pretty easy to determine who's a bit harder to get past. For example, you won't have the winner of this poll take on HBM's "Sexy Boy" in round 2. And you wouldn't put somebody up against Hardcore Holly's "How Do You Like Me Now" as their round five, HOF entry opponent.

And, btw, whoever wins this should go up against the Quebecers & "We're Not the Mounties."

I wanted to vote for the Midnight Express, just because I was an NWA mark back in the day. But I couldn't after listening to Jake's theme. I could see him slinking to the ring with Damien!

Can see where u coming from, but soon enough it'll have to change and contrast styles otherwise we'll be hanging round the same area for a while if say Jake loses next round. But we'll see, all people will have to do is vote anyway. I dont always get the wrestler one, but i dont complain and pick it on preference.

Motoring along well anyway for a prologue effort.

Midnight Express theme

Ya gotta ask what goes into a song. While the Midnight Express has a badass theme, Jake Roberts edges them out in my book because I have more fond memories of watching Jake "The Snake" Roberts while growing up than the Midnight Express. Not taking anything away from anyone, but I grew up with the WWF.

Jake. The Midnight Express theme just takes too long to get into. The intro is the most important part.

If it's not the Fabulous Rougeou Brothers theme, It is not the better theme.

The ME theme reminds me of Coast to Coast AM with Art Bell and the movie Midnight Express more than Bobby Eaton and Sweet Stan Lane but I still voted for it.
