Better Wrestler #62
The Macho Man has been nearly perfect against his last couple of challengers. His challenger this round knows a thing or two about that... http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_RaOrchOImw...ySavage045.jpg "Macho Man" Randy Savage VS http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/dere...%20perfect.jpg Mr. Perfect <SELECT><OPTION selected>Better Wrestler History<OPTION>#1.RVD vs CM Punk (34-19)</OPTION><OPTION>#2.RVD vs Santino Marella (36-4)</OPTION><OPTION>#3.RVD vs Mr. Perfect (15-23)</OPTION><OPTION>#4.Mr. Perfect vs Tully Blanchard (30-5)</OPTION><OPTION>#5.Mr. Perfect vs Chris Jericho (15-23)</OPTION><OPTION>#6.Chris Jericho vs Brock Lesnar (34-10)</OPTION><OPTION>#7.Chris Jericho vs William Regal (38-14)</OPTION><OPTION>#8.Chris Jericho vs Eddie Guerrero (21-23)</OPTION><OPTION>#9.Eddie Guerrero vs Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat (26-7)</OPTION><OPTION>#10.Eddie Geurrero vs "Macho Man" Randy Savage (26-19)</OPTION><OPTION>#11.Eddie Guerrero vs Diamond Dallas Page (39-8)</OPTION><OPTION>#12.Eddie Guerrero vs "Stone Cold" Steve Austin(19-28)</OPTION><OPTION>#13."Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs Chris Benoit (32-13)</OPTION><OPTION>#14."Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs Jake "The Snake" Roberts (29-10)</OPTION><OPTION>#15."Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs Sting (36-16)</OPTION><OPTION>#16."Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs Bret "The Hitman" Hart (32-31)</OPTION><OPTION>#17.Hulk Hogan vs John Cena (15-24)<OPTION>#18.John Cena vs Lex Luger (32-6)<OPTION>#19.John Cena vs Ultimate Warrior (29-18)</OPTION><OPTION>#20.John Cena vs Dean Malenko (9-40)</OPTION><OPTION>#21.Dean Malenko vs Billy Kidman (31-7)</OPTION><OPTION>#22.Dean Malenko vs Ultimo Dragon (22-15)</OPTION><OPTION>#23.Dean Malenko vs Taz (15-17)</OPTION><OPTION>#24.Taz vs Sabu (38-2)</OPTION><OPTION>#25.Taz vs Jeff Hardy (25-16)</OPTION><OPTION>#26.Taz vs Bam Bam Bigelow (26-12)</OPTION><OPTION>#27.Taz vs Triple H (24-22)</OPTION>><OPTION>#28.Edge vs Christian Cage (22-23)<OPTION>#29.Christian Cage vs Raven (23-22)</OPTION><OPTION>#30.Christian vs Matt Hardy (22-19)</OPTION><OPTION>#31.Christian vs Ted Dibiase (24-25)</OPTION><OPTION>#32.Ted Dibiase vs "Rowdy" Roddy Piper (16-19)</OPTION><OPTION>#33."Rowdy" Roddy Piper vs "The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith (25-19)</OPTION><OPTION>#34."Rowdy" Roddy Piper vs Bob Backlund (26-6)</OPTION><OPTION>#35."Rowdy" Roddy Piper vs The Dynamite Kid (26-13)</OPTION><OPTION>#36."Rowdy Roddy Piper vs Ric Flair (16-19)</OPTION><OPTION>#37.Ric Flair vs Bret "The Hitman" Hart (19-17)</OPTION><OPTION>#38.Ric Flair vs Andre "The Giant" (28-5)</OPTION><OPTION>#39.Ric Flair vs Triple H (26-11)</OPTION><OPTION>#40.Ric Flair vs Shawn Michaels (20-26)</OPTION><OPTION>#41.Shawn Michaels vs Jushin "Thunder" Lyger (26-15)</OPTION><OPTION>#42.Shawn Michaels vs Perry Saturn (36-12)<OPTION>#43.Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker (29-11)</OPTION><OPTION>#44.Shawn Michaels vs The Rock (28-30)</OPTION><OPTION>#45.The Rock vs Trish Stratus (21-16)</OPTION><OPTION>#46.The Rock vs Lance Storm (22-19)</OPTION><OPTION>#47.The Rock vs Owen Hart (18-12)</OPTION><OPTION>#48.The Rock vs Kurt Angle (5-24)</OPTION><OPTION>#49.Kurt Angle vs Ken Shamrock (36-5)</OPTION><OPTION>#50.Kurt Angle vs Rob Van Dam (23-13)</OPTION><OPTION>#51.Kurt Angle vs "King Kong" Bruiser Brody (20-10)</OPTION><OPTION>#52.Kurt Angle vs Mick Foley (31-6)</OPTION><OPTION>#53.John Morrison vs Braden Walker (36-11)</OPTION><OPTION>#54.John Morrison vs Kofi Kingston (34-5)</OPTION><OPTION>#55.John Morrison vs CM Punk (14-28)</OPTION><OPTION>#56.CM Punk vs Tajiri (28-20)</OPTION><OPTION>#57.CM Punk vs Booker T (24-23)</OPTION><OPTION>#58.CM Punk vs Samoa Joe (53-4)</OPTION><OPTION>#59.CM Punk vs "Macho Man" Randy Savage (19-36)</OPTION><OPTION>#60. Mr. Perfect. There are only 2, maybe 3 people I would put above him and Savage isn't one of them.
This one should be good.
Wow. A tough one early. I think I need to go with Mr. Perfect though.
This is the 4th round
Macho was too good at everything.
Macho was to good at everything.
But Curt was Perfect at everything.
This is was hard for me. I really liked both guys and both were great in the ring. Because of that, I had to use professional success to "break the tie" so to speak, so in that regard, Macho wins for me.
Curt Henning was what he said he was, 'absolutely perfect'. He was a true talent. Both are HOFers in my book, but this vote goes to the one that's in already.
Just feel Savage deserves it more.

This is difficult. I was hoping Macho would just have an easy path to the HoF. I'm still going with him, though.
All I think back to is Hennig bumping like a machine in the Summerslam 91 match with a fucked up back.
Perfect |
Mr. Perfect EASILY!
The perfect man to beat the Macho Man.
This one was so hard. Mr. Perfect has an almost perfect resume...only thing missing is a world title. Savage for me, by a very slim margin.
I cannot accept anything other than a Macho Man win here. It's very close for me as I think both are in my top 5 but Macho is probably closer to #1 for me. Macho takes it.

Clearly you're undecided and your vote is invalid. So the final vote will be Perfect vs Savage - 1. |
I will have no faith in humanity if Macho Man does not make it to the HOF.
I went with Savage because I'm more familiar with Savage, and he has "it." Henning is good on all levels, but Savage just has the little extra whatever it is that makes him a shining star.
Also Savage is the quintessential wrestler. |
Also, ask anyone who hates wrestling or doesn't watch it. Ask them to describle a wrestler, I will bet you they discribe Savage.
Mr. Perfect is the way better wrestler. The Macho Man is jsut few goofy phrases and so on while Mr. Perfect is jsut well plain PERFECT.

Don't you know anything? |
Savage is a good wrestler/was a good wrestler, and he was a complete package if there ever was one.
I agree Savage was great, but he's no Mr. Perfect in the ring.
Mr. Perfect is dead, and Savage is not. Savage > Hennig.
I think people use Hennig's gimmick as a way to describe him too much. He was really good. Really god damn good but he wasn't perfect and he wasn't the best at what he did when compared to others IMO. I can think of more than a handful of guys that I would put over Perfect. He's up there but his personal demons weighed him down alot and prevented him from achieving what alot of guys did (not talking about storylines here).
Savage was everything you could ever want in a performer. He didn't need written vignettes to get over. You stick him in the ring, he gets over. You put the stick in his hand, he gets over. He was good at everything he did and anybody that had a match with him said the same things. Hogan said he was the biggest perfectionist he had ever worked with. DDP said that he doesn't feel that he had even wrestled a real match until he started wrestling Savage. I mean for god's sake, he pulled a 4 star match out of Warrior. There are VERY few people that I would put over Savage. I even have trouble saying that Flair was a better performer than Savage (although I do think they are of the same calibur). Bottom Line: Vince likes to downplay the role that Savage played but Randy Savage is one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time. |
Savage has the best opening grapple in the business. Look at the intensity in which he grabs a man. That is why he snaps into Slim Jims and Lex Luger shoots up IcoPro.
Savage's overly-telegraphed top rope double axe handle always bugged me, and that's really the only flaw I can find with either of them, so I'll say Mr. Perfect.
Also, how many wrestles say they wanted to emulate Savage? All of them.

tough call.... I go with Perfect.... not too many that were better than him taking all aspects of wrestling into consideration

Now I love Mr. Perfect, and this is definately a very tough call between these two, but Narcissus sums it all up perfectly, you gotta go with the Macho Man here. DIG IT!!! :y: |
PERFECTION!
If Mr. Perfect was so perfect, then he would have never lost a match. :shifty:
"then he would have never had lost"
perfect |
Mr. Perfect based solely on personal mark-ism.
It is pretty hard this one.
I think Hennig has the edge as a worker, but savage has the edge in overall career success. With that it boils down to pre-New York and mic work for me. I loved curt in AWA. there are a lot of matches from then of his on Youtube if you search enough. They really are great, and he was even better in the ring back then. Savage in Memphis was good, but not as good as he bacame, And as for the stick, Savage just always sounded like he was on speedballs or something. He has had his moments of great promo's, but often they could have done more to push an angle with some real belivable hate. Hennig's work as a commentator (which Savage was awful at) was always entertaining, he was the reason I used to watch Prime Time Wrestling, and his stuff with Flair and Heenan before WM8 were some of my favourite promos of all time. I vote, the Berzerker. |
