What's the next best thing after a Gimmick Battle Royal?

WWE will be holding a 25 Diva Battle Royal at Wrestlemania XXV next month. The company is in the process of booking women from the company's past to appear as a way to tying in the 25th Anniversary of Wrestlemania theme.

According to Tammy Sytch's Facebook page, she "is getting ready to kick some DIVA ASS at Wrestlemania!!"

To follow up on that, we did hear that she was going to be in the Diva match that Mike reported on this morning, so this jives perfectly with that. Good for her.

I hope they get Harvina Wippleman.

God I hope no Chyna. I think the only way Trish would participate would be if she was going to win.

So, I assume that the first 17 WILL be in the match. Candice is a question mark in my mind because IIRC she's out injured again.

Rosa I could see debuting in this match. Tiffany, I don't know if she's training to wrestle or not.

So that leaves 5-8 slots. According to reports, Sunny's in. I fully expect Trish. Probably Ivory. We're down to 2-5 left.

Add in Lita and Ashley. That could be the full 25.

That aside, I wonder if Stephanie will be involved.

By my count, you've got 18 Divas on the WWE roster: Beth Phoenix, Melina, Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Jillian Hall, Layla, Candice Michelle, Rosa Mendes, The Bellas, Maria, Eve, Michelle McCool, Maryse, Alicia Fox, Natalya, Katie Lea and Tiffany. 19 if you count Gail Kim being advertised for a SmackDown! return. If you include Sunny in the match count, that's 20. 5 spots remaining:

Mae Young is in. Sorry, but if she plans to wrestle when she's 100, she can work this year's WrestleMania. When has the WWE ever been shy about using her. She will be in the match. Trish Stratus is another likely pick, as she is still on good terms with the WWE, they will likely offer her a lot of money, and there have been rumours swirling around saying that she'll work the PPV. She just "retired," but if the WWE contacted her, I can't see Victoria saying no to working at WrestleMania at least one more time. Torrie Wilson got lifted from Booker T's fan convention by the WWE, and was asked to work the WWE events. I'm sure she'll be in town for WrestleMania, and although she has back troubles, it's a big pay-day, and she'll probably just go through the bottom and middle rope. She's one of the WWE's favourites, too.

The last spot is the tricky one. Does the WWE go with a good female wrestler from the past, like Molly Holly or Ivory, or do they go with the "big star" and try and shock everyone with Chyna, or get in touch with Stacy Keibler? They could also sign a girl for a one-time appearance, like Aja Kong, which would actually be very cool. My guess: Since she has been dropping hints she may return to the company soon, Ashley Massaro gets the nod and gets to appear in the match.

So the mystery five, in my opinion:

Idk if I could see Victoria coming back so soon. That seems like that would kind of cheapen her retirement angle.

Nah, a quickie appearance in a Wrestlemania clusterfuck isn't going to cheapen an angle that barely happened.

There wasn't really an angle with her. She just said she was retiring. Personally, if I were Victoria, I'd be offended if the WWE was looking for women to pad out one of their matches and they never even bothered to give me a call after I had just walked out the door.

It wouldn't be my choice, just predicting what the WWE will do.

Also, the Final Four in this match should be Beth Phoenix, Natalya, Mickie James and Gail Kim. Because that would be awesome.

I would definitely expect Lita to be there.

I'm actually not against this. It would be cool to see some past Women and Divas. Even seeing Luna would be sweet.

Honestly I'm hoping they split it to about 15 current divas and 10 past divas. Just for a few mark out moments.
