Balls Mahoney
 

I noticed that Balls Mahoney is wrestling a match in my area, but is going under a new name. This name is John "Big Balls" Mahoney.

Is this something Mahoney is just doing now, or did WWE steal the rights to his name during the time he worked there?

Yeah you would think that WWE would have the name rights.

If its in a real small area, I doubt Vince will care/notice/know.

Legally, though, if WWE owns the rights, Balls can get into legal trouble.

He should have held on tight to "Balls" instead of allowing WWE to yank it away.

I guess, when he found out about the naming rights, it kicked him really hard.

This is quite the hairy situation.

I'm pretty sure he's blue from the lack of work!

It may also be so the newspapers can print a name when he wrestles.

A lot of papers, including the New York Times, have covered stories involving Balls Mahoney, without printing his wrestling name. A direct quote from the NYT article regarding him was,

"Jon Rechart of Spring Lake Heights is a local version of the movie’s Randy (the Ram) Robinson, played by Mickey Rourke.

Mr. Rechart, 36, who performs under a name that cannot be printed in this newspaper, is a raucous, chair-swinging, heavy-metal-loving professional wrestler who has experienced the best and worst of his sport."
