Better Wrestler #67

After the largest voter turnout yet, Eddie Guerrero picks up the win by just one vote in one of our hottest nail-biters yet.

Mr. Perfect was just one vote away from being in the Hall of Fame, but no cigar. Eddie moves on.

Executioner 03-24-2009 11:33 PM

Anderson without a doubt was one of the most under-used pure wrestlers in the sport. I hardly ever saw a Double A match i didnt like. Eddie was good...but not Enforcer good.

Destor 03-24-2009 11:39 PM

I think everyone on hear knows how I roll. Double A all the way.

Jeritron 03-25-2009 12:09 AM

interesting

Innovator 03-25-2009 12:11 AM

Arn was amazing, but Eddie was better

Juan 03-25-2009 12:22 AM

I always thought Arn was a complete bad ass. Even as his career started winding down in WCW, I always enjoyed watching him.

Jeritron 03-25-2009 12:25 AM

what a goose

Destor 03-25-2009 12:28 AM

3-5 Arn, awesome

Hornicane 03-25-2009 12:38 AM

Going with Eddie again. He just never failed to entertain me in every sense.

Rammsteinmad 03-25-2009 04:15 AM

Eddie all the way. Nothing against Arn, I missed pretty much his entire in-ring career, and only know him as Ric Flairs buddy, and Enforcer of the Four Horsemen.

Destor 03-25-2009 04:15 AM

7-7 wow

Best WCW Television Champion ever.

Volare 03-25-2009 06:08 AM

9-8 Eddie.

DaveBrawl 03-25-2009 09:25 AM

Double A all the way. Just the Spinebuster alone is enough of a reason to vote for him.

Xero 03-25-2009 09:28 AM

This should have been third or fourth round.

Eddie only because I know his work better.

AJHayes 03-25-2009 09:59 AM

This was an easy one for me, Double A. In my opinion, one of the greatest ring psychologists there was. As was said earlier, I don't think an Arn Anderson match exists that I don't like.

I dunno, I honestly thought it was a solid start off round. I knew Arn was popular, but I didn't think he'd stand a chance on here.
Tully was a round 2 challenger early in the contest and lost. So were others who seem to be just as popular.

Sometimes round 2 guys perform suprisingly well, and sometimes round 4 guys get blown out.

Jeritron 03-25-2009 10:42 AM

If you look at the history of the contest, there have been guys who are equal to or greater than Arn in popularity early in rounds. Mr. Perfect and Ricky Steamboat, etc. etc.

The Gold Standard 03-25-2009 10:59 AM

I am picking Eddie because I am more familiar with him.

BigDaddyCool 03-25-2009 11:08 AM

I'm picking Arn because I like Arn.

Ruien 03-25-2009 11:26 AM

Arn was good, really good. But, Eddie just had "it". People wanted to watch Eddie, people turned on Smackdown! just to see Eddie. Not a lot of people did that for AA.

Impeccable 03-25-2009 12:03 PM

These have been really difficult lately...but I have to go with Double A!

Nark Order 03-25-2009 12:17 PM

Eddie on the account that I followed his life while it was happening. Why so hard right off the bat though?

Anybody Thrilla 03-25-2009 12:23 PM

Kevin Nash ruined Arn Anderson for me when he was talking about liver spots and spots on dogs and whatnot. :shifty:

Nark Order 03-25-2009 12:28 PM

Yeah, I remember being wtf even as a child.

Destor 03-25-2009 02:29 PM

To Xero and anyone else saying Arn came too early, the idea is to put someone up we think would have less of a chance in the early rounds and vice versa in the later rounds. Doesn't mean upsets and surprises don't happen. But if you look at the TPWW you'll notice that when it comes to old school there isn't much praise being sung. And when you look at old school the WWE hasn't put over there is virtually ZERO praise.

thedamndest 03-25-2009 02:33 PM

This will take some quiet reflection.

Even I could have seen Arn having a chance.

Destor 03-25-2009 02:38 PM

Do you remember what Eddie to Steamboat?

thedamndest 03-25-2009 02:39 PM

There should be a sub poll for this one: Will the Strawman vote in this round?

Destor 03-25-2009 02:42 PM

NYDon stoppoed voting after we dropped the draw. :(

thedamndest 03-25-2009 03:32 PM

If NYDon isn't voting, I'm not voting either.

Lord-Of-Darkness 03-25-2009 03:52 PM

I'm going for Eddie, always enjoyed his work.

Krimzon7 03-25-2009 04:31 PM

Arn Anderson was the man. He was the 2nd in command in one of the Most badass stables ever.....EVER!!!

The man could do it all, he could talk, he had charisma, and he could fucking work! His psychology in the ring was absolute brilliance. You may forget Tully, Ole, Benwho, and the other horsemen, but you will FUCKING REMEMBER Arn.

Now, we get to the often imitated, never duplicated, Spinebuster. This was one of the best looking moves of his era. It was more effective than the sharpshooter, and it was THE knockout move. Nobody has, or will do it better.

Arn was the shit. And that spot Nash did almost...ALMOST made me kinda pissed at him.

I agree with you. I know alot more about Eddie's career because I started understanding wrestling towards the end of Arns but then this happened

....Nuff said

Fabien Barthez 03-25-2009 09:19 PM

What I enjoy about the matches I can't decide on, is that I go away and usually spend an hour or two watching matches by the guys in question.

So, I'll let you know after some youtubery.

Tazz Dan 03-26-2009 03:06 AM

I went Arn Anderson. Eddie was great and all, but AA was AA.
