looks cool

OssMan 03-25-2009 10:35 PM

That trailer made me mad happy. I don't even know. Random is that the arcade fire playing the background song

thedamndest 03-25-2009 10:47 PM

Looks better than Jumanji. Seems to have enough original material in there to only be loosely based on the book. I'm sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

LuigiD 03-25-2009 10:51 PM

That actually really caught my attention.
I am very interested.

Jon Kano 03-25-2009 11:38 PM

Holy shit....

They actually made a film about it.

I never read the books but when I was about 6/7 my mom bought me an animated video called WTWTA and I fuckin loved it.

The kid, Max I think, had loads of other adventures like one in this massive kitchen with 3 chefs and he like flew around this whole food planet, jumping into cakes, swimming in milk lol

Seeing that trailer has bought back some fond memories, I will def be seeing this.

Nice version of Wake Up by Arcade Fire there also :y:

Looks interesting.

Jeritron 03-26-2009 10:45 AM

amazing

ron the dial 03-26-2009 10:51 AM

i'm actually kind of excited for this

Jeritron 03-26-2009 11:11 AM

I think the key to the story is visual style. That's what the book is. It's not a novel, it's a picture book. They can take liberties with the story, since they obvioulsy have to add to it to make the film 90+ minutes.
It just has to be good, and capture the amazing art in that book.

Jeritron 03-26-2009 11:12 AM

Seriously that books illustrations are like the best thing ever

Supreme Olajuwon 03-26-2009 12:14 PM

Hey, Spike Jonze isn't dead. Alright.

That trailer actually looked really good. And I think if anyone was going to make the book into a film, Jonze is the one to do it.

Blitz 03-26-2009 02:50 PM

There's been a lot of rumours regarding Jonze fighting with the studio to release a darker version then what they want. Very interested to see this.

Fignuts 05-17-2009 01:25 AM

Yeah, mine too. Like the direction they seem to be taking with it too.

Also, excellent song for the trailer.

Kris P Lettus 05-17-2009 01:27 AM

Spike Jonez is the man..

Supreme Olajuwon 05-17-2009 02:39 AM

Juan 05-17-2009 03:43 AM

Holy shit that looks amazing

Nowhere Man 05-17-2009 12:40 PM

Damn, that looks pretty awesome. I love that they made the suits look almost exactly like the ones from the book.

bigdaddysuperfreak 05-17-2009 12:43 PM

I read this book to my son every night for a year straight, after awhile you dont even need the book since you can recite it together. But the pictures were magical.

Jon Kano 05-17-2009 11:42 PM

This has already been posted, but yeah, cant wait.

Mr. Nerfect 05-20-2009 10:28 AM

Doesn't really interest me, but I can understand why fans of the book would sentimentally love this shit.

ClockShot 10-16-2009 04:39 PM

I'm hearing great reviews for this. Anybody gonna go and give me a review of their own?

Loose Cannon 10-16-2009 05:17 PM

Jura 10-16-2009 07:12 PM

Not sure I remember this book.

Blitz 10-17-2009 12:23 PM

Saw it last night. Just an achingly sad, melancholy flick. Loved it.

Stickman 10-17-2009 12:48 PM

I can't believe somebody was able to make a full length movie from like a 20 page book with 1 or 2 sentences per page.

I am really hoping this is not like one of the other children books turned in to movies. I really didn't like them. Though Cloudy With a Chance Of Meatballs was fucking awesome.

Someone said this to me a few weeks ago at the movie theater. I said the same thing then that I will say now.

C'mon now! They took a ride from Disney World and made 3 3 hour long movies out of it.
