Son of a bitch, they care about source material. I think we have a surprise brewing.

= Mai Shiranui?

Doesn't look like the skanky ninja type

Blitz 03-27-2009 06:00 PM

Had no idea this was even happening. Cool.

She's legit action, though. Most of the cast are.

Funky Fly 03-27-2009 07:25 PM

I know she's a legit action star. I just find it hilarious that she's playing a slutty ass ninja whose tits fall out every 5 seconds.

#BROKEN Hasney 03-27-2009 07:47 PM

So is this the 94-97 saga, or the 99- ? saga? From what they are saying, I think it's the latter, but to be perfectly honest I have never followed the storyline (probably because 98 was my fave and that was a Dream Match type dealie)

Kalyx triaD 03-27-2009 08:12 PM

Not sure about the story and I don't want to know.

#BROKEN Hasney 03-27-2009 08:37 PM

Just Czeched it out. The Orochi saga is 95-97 (94 was not included) and thats what the film is based on.

Kalyx triaD 03-27-2009 08:40 PM

I'm familiar with the Orochi Saga, as well as the whole clone saga trip; I was saying that the movie plot isn't known to me.

LuigiD 03-28-2009 09:09 PM

No idea they were making a movie based on this. Kinda cool.

Figures they'd turn her clothes black (they usually do for these kinds of movies), but I called it. She doesn't look like a ridiculous ninja slut. Stick a tutu on that and she could be a ninja ballerina tho.

Kalyx triaD 03-30-2009 03:35 PM

Kinda weird having her and not Andy or Terry.

Kane86 03-30-2009 03:37 PM

Thats what all directors say about doing video game movies. Paul Anderson supposedly cared about the source material too. But htis movei will suck just like every other video game movie.

Funky Fly 03-30-2009 03:38 PM

They're not in it? lol

I could understand if they're leaving out kinda useless people like fucking Duck King, but certain people should have cameos at the very least.

The first part I agree with, the second part is typical Kane86 overgeneralized stuff-n-nonsense.

Yeah I heard or read nothing about the bros. Or Art of Fighting characters for that matter. I would have made FF and AoF first and then lead into KoF. I wrote about ideas in detail in another forum.

Still, I'm interested. And I'm loving the adaptation fever going on.

It says that Terry IS in the movie. No Andy though.

Then again, it's Wiki.

"Save your disappointment." Okay...

I fucking dare you to explain that in a coherent, perfectly logical post you stupid self-love holocaust survivor. It doesn't even have to be something I agree with, just logical.

Whether I put you on ignore or not is on the line. Go.

So I see.

* Sean Faris as Kyo Kusanagi
* Will Yun Lee as Iori Yagami
* Ray Park as Rugal Bernstein
* Françoise Yip as Chizuru Kagura
* Hiro Kanagawa as Saisyu Kusanagi
* Monique Ganderton as Mature
* Maggie Q as Mai Shiranui[3]
* David Leitch as Terry Bogard
* Sam Hargrave as Ryo Sakazaki
* Bernice Liu as Vice

Terry and Ryo as well, I owe these guys a cheeseburger.

Well tell me why your so intrested in it?

Kalyx triaD 03-30-2009 04:25 PM

For one I wouldn't have expected a movie based on the 'other' 2D fighting game series. Secondly, although you're right that all adaptation productions preach source material and such, I see with my eyes that they aren't taking the project dead seriously (just look at Vice and Mature). It looks like a fun production. And I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm generally interested in stuff like this. Kinda common knowledge, really. With Terry and Ryo confirmed, I'm interested with how they're directing it now. Chi attacks or none, realistic fights or wire-fu, I want to know.

I like movies and I like games, doesn't take much to get me excited about a new player. But that doesn't mean I'm down for missteps like Legend of Chun-Li - which was a directorial and production failure.

I agree with what your saying and the Resident Evil movies are a guilty pleasure of mine. So I am not saying I hate every videogame movie and I did enjoy Hitman, I knew the new Street Fighter was going to be terrible I just wish Hollywood coukld get something right. I really did enjoy Resident Evil Degeneration they did something right for once on that....

Kalyx triaD 03-30-2009 04:42 PM

The 'they' you refer to are the actual game company guys, which says a lot. I mean Hollywood with all their resources ran RE into the ground with the last one, while Capcom themselves release the best RE movie ever. But that goes into the pros/cons of live action vs CGI and let's not open that box.

I also find it ironic that Paul Andersuck made the first RE and Mortal Kombat, major credits to videogame movies. While Eww Bowl gets to make a bunch of rapefests due to some German tax loophole, and he never came close to justifying his director chair (though I hear Postal was above suckage).

I know armchair analysis can get annoying but I feel at times that it's not really that hard... Or perhaps it is. I just wanna sit down some of the biggest failures at these things and grill 'em on certain matters. Is there anything like that? Like how the press grills certain guest of things like politics and such? There should be someone out there to hold directors and producers accountable for releasing feature length suck.

Postal was his only good movie

Can't see Ray Park as Rugal.

Wait what? Alternate dimension? Terry is a CIA agent? Iori Yagami appears to be some sort of hockey player?

I don't even know.

Kalyx triaD 11-28-2009 12:19 AM

What. The fuck. Is so hard about writing this shit? I do not understand shit like this. Studios think they're clever getting guys who don't know the source material to write it (worked with GI Joe Resolute, Mortal Kombat), but most of the time you get shit like this and Legend of Chun-Li. I wonder if it was a writer or studio thing... In any case, I feel sorry for them.

I should just write adaptations for these things and at least try to get them out there.

Jura 11-28-2009 12:20 AM

Best movie ever.

Kalyx triaD 11-28-2009 12:23 AM
