Most people dont know this but the A Tain wasnt ever oiled up before he wrestled, he use to eat a big bucket of fried chicken before the match and would get the grease all over himself. :shifty: I dont think that I have ever done a Yay or Nay on Prince Albert/ A Train so what do you think about him? He debuted with Droz as his personal piercer/ bodyguard but when Droz was injured he became a part of T&A. After T&A was up he just kinda floated around for a while, he was apart of X Factor, and teamed with Scotty 2 Hotty as the "Hip Hop Hippo". He started wearing tiny tights that showed off all his body hair and just became the A Train a kinda muscle for hire. He wasnt ever THAT great in WWE (just another generic big man type) but from what I heard he has improved his in ring skills in NJPW. Unfortuately he dosent have the man fur anymore :'( but he had a good bycicle kick for a man his size and the train wreck is still one of my favorite finishers in the older SVR games. I'm gonna give Albert a Meh with some YAY aspects to his career so far. There you go Triple Naitch the match where the A Train tries to stop the Incredible Hulk |
Fuck him he beat Kane for IC title. Actually he wasn't that bad though once he started striking out on his own. I have heard he is big shit in Japan.
I gave him a Meh as well with som YAY aspects but really he was never that great at all. |
I never gave a shit abut him when he was Prince Albert. I hated him so so much when he was simply Albert, but as soon as he became A-Train I loved him. He was my favorite guy to use in Here Comes the Pain.
I've seen barely anything of his work in Japan, but I've heard he's a big name there.
I approve of thedamndest. Therefore, yay.
I had better see a lot more answers like Triple Naitch's.
I've never seen anything to really make me like him, but I've never really hated him either.
Meh. |
I don't think Taker's streak would be anywhere without A-Train putting him over.
By the way, :roll:ermacka, you should change that video. It is so horribly pixelated that it is unwatchable.
I was actually gonna post an Albert thread in here one of these days... my favorite A-Train moment was at a Smackdown/Velocity taping years ago at MSG. He was fighting some jobber on Velocity, I forget who it was. A-Train wins the match, then goes absolutely ballistic for no reason. He grabbed a chair and started banging the ring steps, then he threw the ring steps I believe. It was just unwarranted insanity after he WON the match. If memory serves me right, this was the same show where Vince was mocking Zach Gowen on Smackdown, and threw his cane into the crowd, hitting some woman in the face.
From what I've seen of him in Japan, he's really improved.
But I'll give him a "meh" because I haven't seen too much. |
Fucking A i missed the entire lesnar era :(
You suck.
It always amazed me how straight A train could keep his back with that much fucking weight.
I didn't like the Prince Albert era, but enjoyed T & A with Test and Trish. I have never seen any of his Japan matches. I go MEH
I loved A Train. Very under-rated in the ring.
The only time i ever enjoyed watching A-Train was when the crowd would chant 'shave your back' I think about 2 months later he did and that was my only enjoyment.
some work of his from Japan. Much scarier now vs. his wwe days.

Considering his size he can pull off some pretty good stuff.
I voted Yay, but overall I was never really a fan. I think the problem is (and I'm mostly referring to his WWE stuff) that I generally don't care. He was never really in matches/feuds that I cared about, and he was basically nothing more than the "big-guy enforcer" type. |
Watching that first video reminds me how much I used to get annoyed everytime Tazz went "Well... here comes the pain!"
A-Train was definitely a hoss and was one of the most powerful men that the WWE has ever had. While I think A-Train had a lot of potential and talent to move up, I think his biggest drawback was the fact that he wasn't motivated. After spending some time in X-Factor...a group that was lead by X-Pac by the way, you just never got that sense that Albert was developing into a leader.
Even during his days with Trish Status and Test with T&A, Trish was the one wearing the proverbial pants. I think A-Train's lack of leadership and drive was his own undoing. That's not to say however, that the man had unmitigated power and potential. |
Yay.
First started to like him when he was having that series of matches with benoit. Since then, he's gotten even better. |

man atrain sucks at the pump handle slam, test was the king of that shit
Once he was A-Train I got on board with him. Not as Albert though, not even the short time where he'd come out for a VELOCITY (yes, I watched it) match, and toss chairs into the ring because the audience and wrestlers wanted him to shave his back. A few poor saps even tried to shave his back for him only to be demolished...

I put meh, only because my friends had a big joke about A-Train which made him OK to watch because we would just make fun of him all the time

Anyone agree that he dose it well? |
