Thanks to Jason Rivera and Jen Carson for these results for the first episode of WWE’s Superstars program and dark matches from tonight’s RAW, taped tonight in Atlanta, GA.

RAW Dark Matches:

* Dolph Ziggler vs. Goldust
Dolph comes out first followed by Goldust. Ziggler beat Goldust with his finisher in a classic WWE Superstars match.

* Curt Hawkins vs. Jimmy Wang Yang
Curt is out first followed by Jimmy Wang. Yang gets the win.

WWE Superstars Tapings, Airing 4/16:

* Jim Ross and Todd Grisham come out to commentate for Superstars. It looks like they are the commentators.

* The Undertaker comes out to open the first Superstars show.

* The Undertaker vs. Matt Hardy
The Undertaker wins by count out as Matt Hardy left the ring. Jeff Hardy comes down and attacks Matt after the match, sending him back in the ring where he gets chokeslammed by The Undertaker.

* George W. Bush is shown on the Titantron and gets some big heat from the crowd.

More matches should be taped at tomorrow night’s tapings.

Sounds pretty interesting. Jim Ross and Todd Grisham were probably calling the SmackDown! match, as it, you know, featured SmackDown! Superstars. Looks like the show might share the announce duties, which could be pretty cool.

Also, they should just rename it the Cenatron.

On an unrelated note, I can't wait for Abraham Washington to debut in the WWE. :D

How is Ziggler over Goldust a Classic WWE Superstars match?

Did they do the match in an arena that holds 2,000 or so and air it on a weekend morning?

Yeah, it's called the "Hi, I'm Dolph Ziggler"/Handshake combination.

How awesome would it be if MVP comes out next week, and cuts a promo about being the greatest US Champion in SmackDown! history, and now the greatest US Champion in RAW history, only for Dolph Ziggler to come out and introduce himself. Ziggler offers MVP a handshake, but MVP offers him a fist to pound instead. Ziggler then takes it, but when MVP turns his back, Ziggler jumps him screaming "I only shake hands! I only shake hands!"

MVP is, of course, furious, and he goes to the back where Vickie and Chavo tell him that he's going to defend the US Title against Ziggler. MVP says good, and that cable makes Vickie look fatter, or something. MVP and Ziggler then work the match they are capable of working, but here is the main point of this post:

During the MVP/Ziggler match, MVP goes for the Ballin' Elbow, but after he does his "ballin'" taunt, Ziggler kips up and then offers MVP his hand, "Hi, I'm Dolph Ziggler." I'd probably mark out too much.

That would not be awesome.

Christian also beat Finlay to qualify to challenge Jack Swagger for the ECW Championship at Backlash, and Shane McMahon got disqualified against Cody Rhodes.

I thought the show was solid but a problem that will be annoying is changing announcers every match. Given that the announce talent pool isnt that deep, I guess its what they have to do but at some point they need to settle on 2 and not switch. Also, WGN isn't HD on Directv which is terrible.
