Santino and the draft.

 So I was just watching the replay of Raw, in Spanish, don't ask why, and did anyone else notice that when they showed the draft graphic with all the superstars faces on it... that Santina, and Santino where shown separately? lol I laughed my but off. I'm sure it was a joke, but how funny would it of been if they drafted Santina/Santino to Smackdown and left the other on Raw or ECW.

thedamndest 04-18-2009 04:16 PM

It actually would have been a pretty big push for Santino. He would wrestle as Santina on the second show for awhile, but obviously he would be "found out" in the ring when his wig comes off. The GM wouldn't want to lose a wrestler, so they would make him work as Santino on that show in addition to his Raw duties.

But I still think as long as Kozlov is around Santino will not be allowed to get serious, so I guess having him on two shows wouldn't neccessarily be a push. It would just be more comedy.

Smarky The Shark 04-18-2009 05:23 PM

Santino Marella is pathetic.

Smarky The Shark 04-18-2009 05:24 PM

Yes, I said Santino Marella is a pathetic excuse of an individual with no self-pride or respect for his sport.

CSL 04-18-2009 05:27 PM

It's not a sport

XIII 04-18-2009 05:29 PM

Santino is the shit

they need to quit the comedy act and get him over as a huge heel, or even as a face.... he def. got sum talent

You are pathetic, and really just sad to watch exist.

Londoner 04-18-2009 05:34 PM

lol, ofcourse. I'm really offended by your post. :( :shifty:

Smarky The Shark 04-18-2009 05:40 PM

um, wait a minute. Santina is Santino's sister. Why would he need to do that.

Krimzon7 04-18-2009 11:49 PM

ditto. Santino will be quite serious once he's allowed to be serious.

Rammsteinmad 04-19-2009 08:06 AM

To be honest I've not seen Santino serious, but I'm loving his comedy stuff anyway. The guy is definitely funny. I laughed my ass off at his dance at Wrestlemania. Funny shit.

Anyways, I want Smarky the Shark to insult me all seriously now because I obviously don't respect "the business".

As much as I wish Santino would get something resembling credibility, the entertainment he provides is pretty fucking special in today's climate. He's got a knack for comedy, so that he has proven he has these muscles is great.

The guy is not horrible in the ring, contrary to popular belief, and when he is serious, he's actually quite chilling. In OVW, he was compared to Kurt Angle in terms of his style, only with more of an MMA influence than an amateur wrestling one. If Marella were allowed to kick ass with his current character, then he would remind me even more of Kurt Angle -- who in his early stages was a goof that just had so much fucking talent.

Mr. Nerfect 04-19-2009 09:24 AM

I think they kept Santina on RAW because they want to do a Beth Phoenix vs. Santina feud, which should be quite entertaining, if nothing else.

XIII 04-19-2009 09:55 AM

santino was bout to be the next big thing when he came outta the crowd and beat umaga.... then they made a joke outta him.... like goldust

Mr. Nerfect 04-20-2009 09:32 AM

Santino Marella should talk about how he's been taking MMA classes with a friend (a reference to Bobby Lashley helping him out earlier in his career), and then start kicking the piss out of people.

Santino is an undersized wrestler who has done extremely well with this zany comedic side.

Why would the WWE alter his personna? :wtf: Are you that dense?

The WWE should continue to push Santino Marella as is. It's one of the few things that the WWE has done well. The only danger with Santino, is that the WWE might try and turn him face due to the positive crowd reactions he's been receiving.

The WWE are much better off pushing Marella as a heel....and letting the crowd react however they want. Almost like an inverse of Cena if you will.

I don't think Santino could be taken as a serious threat after all he's gone through.

A very short sighted and ill thought out view.

Your post demonstrates to me that you haven't been a fan for very long.

Are you familiar with the likes of Christian and Eddie Guerrero? Are you even aware of the fact that both men made successful transitions from comedic characters into serious heels? Kurt Angle is yet another example, and I'm sure there are many more.

It's time to step up your game.

Nark Order 04-21-2009 07:35 PM

Casey Jones, I feel that you would be a little more well received if you didn't insult people every post for no reason and just give your opinion. I feel you bring up good points sometimes but it is overshadowed much by the fact that you act like a major asshole.

I hold myself to a higher standard, and I expect others to post in a competent manner as well. I do not care if I am more "well received" or not. If I see someone posting a moronic opinion, they will get called on it.

Also... Angle, Christian, and Eddie were always booked as somewhat of a threat though despite having comedic personas at times. Santino at this moment in time loses almost every match and is seen more as a good way to fill 10 minutes rather than an actual wrestler. I don't think that turning him into a legitimate threat eventually is hopeless but they'll need something good.

You expect others to post in a competent manner as well? Wha..? CJ, I'm guessing that most people come on the TPWW boards because they wanna let off some steam and talk about wrestling in a casual (but more informed) manner.

If you disagree with someone- Thats fine. Not everyone has the same tastes or ideas. It's expected.

But if you jump down some poster's throat because (heaven forbid) he express an opinion you deem "moronic", please keep in mind that throwing insults around the place makes you come across alot worse. :-\

Sovereigntywillpr 04-21-2009 08:31 PM

So basically if someone(who's post I've been reading for years) hasn't been watching wrestling cause you don't agree with him. The point of a discussion board is to discuss not skulled anyone who disagrees with you. Your argument will never be taken seriously if you don't/can't bight down on your tong, and make the post as nice as possible, offering constructive criticism if you will. Instead of calling him an idiot if he doesn't agree with you.

Those guys could always go in the ring and even though they joked around, they seemed to be a threat in the ring. Santino is made to look like he can't wrestle at all and all of her wins are by fluke.

LOL at the "her" you added in there. That wins it. Hands down.

God I hate Santino

Why, Skip? I had such big plans for us. :(
