Moist (question for Canadian/US peeps)

Ok, odd situation. While I was in Canada a while back I got a free CD with some jeans which had a track by Moist on it (Ophelia). I loved it, downloaded a few more tracks, loved them, tried to buy an album, found nobody in the UK has heard of them. Since then I've downloaded virtually all their music but I still don't know shit about them (their website is duff as far as info/history goes). Anyone know anything about them?

Moist is broken up and David Usher is pursuing a solo career, although the bassist, keyboardist and drummer from Moist are in his travelling band. I just saw them last Friday in Toronto. The difference between Moist's music and David's solo stuff is that David wrote all of it and produced it, whereas with Moist it was a joint process. Anyways, Moist was a band from Toronto who enjoyed mostly success in Canada. I think they minorly broke out in the U.S. with their third album, because the first single was on the soundtrack for Stir of Echoes.

Moist has 3 albums and a greatest hits collection. I'll give you some songs if you want to check them out:

Silver (1994)
Silver
Push
Believe Me
Machine Punch Through

Creature (1997)
Gasoline
Tangerine
Ophelia
Resurrection
Creature

Mercedes Five and Dime (1999)
Underground
Breathe
Mike Hammer
Place
Jesse's Girl
Fish

Their greatest hits came out in 2001 but they announced their breakup only about 2 months ago. As you can probably tell, I've been a fan of them for a long time. I don't know but maybe you can order their CDs off of a Canadian music distribution website. Maybe try www.hmv.ca and see if they do international orders.

Cheers dude, my bro's living in Alberta at the moment so I'm hoping he can send me some back in the post. Sucks about them breaking up, but I'll check out some of Usher's solo stuff. :y:

Yeah, check out David's first and third album. His second album was kinda weak. First album's called Little Songs and the third one is called Hallucinations.
