Shows that you liked that got cancelled too fast

Minding the Store (or whatever)
Whatever that show was with Pauly Shore managing the Famous Comedy Store. It was on TBS for a bit and I thought every episode was hilarious. Too bad it is no more.

Kid Nation
Has anyone watched the only season of this show? The whole thing is SO funny. The kids are so messed up and the host is probably the goofiest guy on the planet.

There are countless others, such as Undergrads, Clone High, Undeclared, Freaks and Geeks

Dark-Slicer Diago 04-22-2009 11:38 AM

I kinda like Tru Calling, it was cancelled after the first season but not until after the first 5 1/2 episodes of season 2 were taped, so they decided to finish the 6th episode before stopping production.

DaveBrawl 04-22-2009 11:43 AM

Drive all 4 or 5 episodes Fox aired were great.

Knight Rider may get cancelled and I really enjoy it for some strange reason.

The Mackem 04-22-2009 11:54 AM

Too many, alas Bravestar, we barely knew ye.

jcmoorehead 04-22-2009 12:05 PM

Firefly, it really deserved better treatment from Fox the it got.

Fignuts 04-22-2009 12:06 PM

Frisky Dingo

Show was so excellent.

I really liked Point Pleasant for some reason.

Kid nation was great. Did you see the episode when they had to decide whether or not to kill the chicken for food and the black kid stood up and said "Who here likes chicken? Because I like fried chicken!"

I actually liked the show Reunion on Fox. The idea behind it was great, just the ratings were awful

DAMN iNATOR 04-22-2009 02:45 PM

Also, I liked a couple of VERY short lived US game shows, one of which I have very little recollection of:

Winning Lines with Dick Clark,

and

I can't remember the title of the other one, but they had a bonus round that winning the bonus prize was contingent on spelling the word HOLLYWOOD, with a big giant replica of the HOLLYWOOD sign (as an LED). Anyone remember this show?

and how could I forget,

The NEW Price Is Right with Doug Davidson (1994-1995)

No. You are probably confusing it with Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?, which ran from 1991-1996. Where In Time Is Carmen Sandiego? ran for nearly two full years, from October 7, 1996 (within several weeks to a month of the end of WITWICS) to October 2, 1998.

Oh, and although Lynne Thigpen was "The Chief" for the full 7 years, the two shows had different hosts. Greg Lee hosted World, while Kevin Shinick hosted Time.

Carnivale was amazing. So pissed that one got cancelled. Wasn't even cause of ratings, as it was one of the highest rated programs when it was on. Fucking budget reasons. Cheapskate bastards.

Rammsteinmad 04-22-2009 04:33 PM

I quite liked the CGI Spider-Man series that was out a few years ago, but it was only on for one season before being cancelled.

There's only one thing left to do. You know what it is...

DO IT, ROCAKPELLA!!!!

Well she sneaks around the world
from Kiev to Carolina,
She's a sticky-fingered filcher
from Berlin down to Belize,
She'll take you for a ride on a slow boat to China,
Tell me where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?

Steal their Seoul in South Korea,
make Antarctica cry Uncle,
From the Red Sea to Greenland they'll be
singing the blues,
Well they never Arkan-saw her steal
the Mekong from the jungle,
Tell me where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?

She go from Nashville to Norway, Bonaire to Zimbabwe,
Chicago to Czech and Slovakia
AND BACK!

Well she'll ransack Pakistan
and run a scam in Scandinavia,
Then she'll stick 'em up Down Under
and go pick-pocket Perth,
She put the Miss in misdemeanor
when she stole the beans from Lima,
Tell me where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?
Oh tell me where in the world is... Oh tell me where can she be?

Ooh, Botswana to Thailand, Milan via Amsterdam,
Mali to Bali, Ohio, Oahu...!

MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY AT FIVE!

Well she glides around the globe and she'll flimflam every nation,
She's a double-dealing diva with a taste for thievery,
Her itinerary's loaded up with moving violations,
Tell me where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?

Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?
WATCH YOUR BACK!

Rockapella's a really great group, with several cd's out. Most of the original members aren't part of the group any more (in fact, they had gone through a couple changes before and during WITWICS).
If you get a chance you should check out their song "Zombie Jamboree". It's pretty cool in a silly sorta way.

I finally watched this on dvd a few months ago. It's so depressing that it got canceled after the first season. I was really looking forward to seeing what they would do with the whole Lindsey becoming a deadhead story.

I live for the day that Pauly Shore and Carrot Top have a show together so I can Uzi the place and get rid of them at the same time.

El Vaquero de Infierno 04-22-2009 07:17 PM

Part of me wants to say, Angel. But it ended quit strong, and had 5 seasons, so in some ways it doesn't apply to the Q.

ron the dial 04-22-2009 07:19 PM
