Fred Savage or Ben Savage?
 

Who do you think was the better child actor? Fred or younger bro Ben Savage? I am betting most opinions will be based on comparisons between Fred and Ben in The Wonder Years and Boy Meets World, respectively (food for thought, the two appeared together in as brothers in Little Monsters and again in an episode of Boy Meets World).

Try to gauge your opinions of the actual actor, not just whether you liked the show itself better, and feel free to include other works besides just the aforementioned.

The Wonder Years was fucking incredible. BMW couldn't hold it's jock strap.

I think overall The Wonder Years is the better show, but it required Fred to do much less acting than Ben. Many of the pivotal lines are delivered via Daniel Stern while Fred Savage just pauses to collect himself for a moment. Boy Meets World is a "less serious" show, but the acting is all Ben.

College years of Boy Meets world hurts Ben Savage though. He and the show were pretty terrible then.

Any low point in the show at that period can be blamed on Rachel.

She was bad, but Cory was so annoying.

Really wanted to kick him in the testicles.

Yeah, actually once Cory and Topanga got married the show should have ended. Mr. Feeny and Eric became the only reasons to watch (bad news for the show). I love that in The Wonder Years Kevin and Winnie did not get married. But then, BMW was really for the TGIF audience, so what can you do?

Fred. Princess Bride and Wonder Years. c'monnnnn.

He should have chosen Lauren.

Fred plays the same kid in The Wizard, Little Monsters, and Princess Bride.

Lauren was hot, but she was too trampy for Cory. She's probably doing coke right now.

That would have been great Television.

Fred Savage. Wonder Years blows Boy Meets World out of this universe as far as quality and storytelling are concerned. Yeah, I liked BMW. When I was twelve. Today, it doesn't hold up. Wonder Years is still a fantastic show, and as previously mentioned, BMW went into that crappy College Years shit (the same trap that Saved By the Bell fell into - don't these people fucking learn?), while Wonder Years never had a bad season.

BMW was ahead of its time. Remember the BMW episode when Fred played a college professor or something and was hitting on Topanga and Corey threw him through a glass door? I think that solves the debate. Ben pwns Fred.

I loved both TWY and BMW

Fred gets it purely because TWY was like my 'first favourite tv show'.
