Danny sent word that Comcast employees were notified on Friday via email that they were to update their marketing materials to reflect a name change for WWE's June Pay-per-view, The Great American Bash. The new name? The Bash. If WWE is really going through with this (as of right now, it is still listed by the old name on WWE.com), I see a lot of old school NWA and WCW fans being pretty ticked off. The one NWA/WCW name WWE uses, and now they are going to alter it?

The Bash also sounds kind of...boring.

Also, The Bash is a pretty boring/stupid name.

I agree with Noid, if they are going to change it The Bash, they might as well name it something totally different. I don't know why they would wanna change the name of it anyway

Unacceptable. In order to properly understand this whole reversal of nomenclatural policy, we clearly must discover everything we can of this man who calls himself Danny. What are his motives, what involvement does he have in this matter, and exactly why am I even still awake?

The WWE seems rather UNABASHED about this move.

Now that I think of it, we shouldn't be so quick to BASH them.

I fucking wish they would put the King of the Ring back on PPV. They have so many fucking PPVs, if they went with a theme for more of them, there'd be slightly more reason to order. The Big Four are fine, but then you also have No Way Out with the Elimination Chambers, Cyber Sunday with the interactive bullshit and even Unforgiven could keep the tradition of the Scramble Matches alive. Some may disagree, but I would not oppose it if they put every title on the line in Scramble Matches for that PPV. Put the Tag Team Titles on the line in a match with just two teams, but the team who scores the last pinfall or submission wins the match.

WWE Bash at the Beach! Macho Man vs Batista, Daffney and David Flair w/Crowbar vs The Hart Trilogy in a bikini match, and John Cena takes on Hollywood Hulk Hogan.

It's a clusterfuck for the ages.

It makes sense. Their programming takes place not in America or even this planet, but within the WWE Universe.

Honest to fucking god, the marketing people WWE hired (or maybe Vince himself) should be euthanized.

I always thought that they went with Great American Bash name because of JBL's gimmick and it was odd that they kept the name past that one year.

Great American Bash is always a terrible PPV.

I would name something else entirely.

"Shitty American Bash" has a ring to it.

I would accept that.

Name it: GAME OVER (Spoiler: Triple H returns)

They should bring back WCW Hog Wild and have it ME with Vicki Guerrero winning a belt..

They officially changed it to The Bash on WWE.com, and it is being held in Sacramento, CA.

I hated the logo for the PPV last year, truth be told.

give it another WCW name like "Fall Brawl"....sure it'll be in the summer, but whats in a name?
