I never really read any of Doyle's books, so I have no idea if this is even the slightest bit faithful to them. By itself, though, I'm interested.

Based on that trailer this looks terrible. They've gone and made it into an action oriented movie, which Sherlock Holmes is not. As great of an actor as Downey Jr. is, he is not right for the role of Sherlock Holmes.

I can't get that link to work for me right now, but I :heart: Sherlock Holmes. So of course I will watch this.

It got me past my GCSE in English when I wrote a whole Thesis on how Holmes uses his process of elimination etc. to sort mystery's out. I wanted to do a Scooby Doo one, but teacher didn't have any of it. Claß though as I pretty much did it in 2 days and we had 6 weeks to prepare and complete it all. But I was such a Jeremy Brett fan, I think i knew Holmes inside out.

Can't remember where I read it, but isn't Sherlock Holmes meant to be a talented crack addict? Yeah, I think Robert Downey, Jr. will play him just fine.

The last line is hilarious. Downey is great, but the trailer isn't very exciting. It looks pretty lame. LXG-esque.

Guy Ritchie was pretty much a one hit wonder. Other than that, he is shit. jude law is shit also. meh to this film.
