Will Raw go on as planned next week?

More importantly, will we see a midget Stan Kroenke?

Xero 05-19-2009 01:12 PM

I want to see WWE Backstage Assault.

Honestly, I really, truly believe that Vince will set up the ring in protest and shoot the show in the parking lot if he doesn't get the arena.

Exyle 05-19-2009 01:44 PM

It will definitely not go on as planned. I can't see the NBA changing their playoff schedule for anything.

As for what will happen? I voted for "taped earlier in the day" because it seems the most logical. Needless to say, WWE ticket holders will be reimbursed because of the change, and Vince will be suing the Nuggets for all of the lost ticket revenue.

Just my guess.

Savio 05-19-2009 01:52 PM

I think the nuggets will avoid being sued

Nuggets... NBA... whoever is in charge of booking the arena.

If there needs to be a mass refund on Raw tickets, someone will end up paying for it.

Xero 05-19-2009 02:30 PM

There's no way it COULD be taped earlier in the day. It takes hours to set up and take down the set.

Apparently they're looking into moving the taping to Colorado Springs.

WWE has a contract so if they don't get the arena they have a pretty open and shut case.

The arena also had the chance to fix this when tickets went on sale in April, but they didn't.

At the very least, WWE will be getting a large settlement here, because if they move they will definitely lose revenue.

That would be a small RAW. World Arena isn't that big.

Pardeep 619 05-19-2009 03:00 PM

Is Stan Kroenke the same guy who owns a large share in Arsenal football club?

There's no way it's going on "as planned." Just no way.

It will not be occupying the Nuggets arena live on Monday night.
Earlier in the day sounds possible. Or another arena.
I'm personally hoping on the parking lot and an "invasion" attempt.

The only way it's going to go on as planned is if theres some kind of immediate court order, which probably won't happen.
It will just be a lawsuit and the Nuggets will have to pay Vince a boatload of money.

Team Sheep 05-19-2009 03:50 PM

It won't happen on Monday at all I don't think. No way they could transform a WWE setup to a basketball court that quickly. If it were to happen in that building it could be on Sunday night perhaps, though the Raw brand have a house show schedule on that night. Or they'll use the other arena in Denver that they were offered. But yeah either way, the Nuggets will surely have to pay out.

I hope we get the parking lot.

thedamndest 05-19-2009 03:55 PM

If I were Vince, I would settle with the Denver guy prior to Raw for as much money as I could get out of him (possibly by buying up the remaining seats myself to give the appearance of a sell-out). Then reimburse ticket holders and do a special parking lot Raw and make a huge thing out of it. Moving to a different arena isn't a great plan because you're going to lose a lot of your live crowd, and the same with filming earlier in the day. That translates to lost merch sales. You need to make this guy pay for everything and still air a show, basically the most expensive show you can do from a parking lot since it's on his dime.

FourFifty 05-19-2009 04:06 PM

Either way I think Kroenke is in deep shit. He'll either in breach of contract with WWE or the NBA for not being able to provide an arena for an event that he is contractually obliged to hold.

TechSmartLiving 05-19-2009 06:21 PM

The problem with an Outdoors RAW (even though I think we'd all love it) ... It's going to be storming all weekend and on Monday. Rain all three days does not work well, unless they still have the WrestleMania 24 set .... hrmmmm..

Yeah, either the WWE or NBA is going to suffer by not being able to hold it in the Pepsi Center. I don't see either one backing down though. I just want something really intriguing to happen one way or the other. I don't want just a typical run of the mill Raw.

#1-norm-fan 05-19-2009 08:11 PM

And yes, there will be a midget Stan Kroenke and it's very possible that he will get destroyed by Big Show.

KYR 05-19-2009 08:17 PM

So Rey will play the part of Stan Kroenke I take it.

SammyG 05-19-2009 08:21 PM

No way the Lake Show is gettin' kicked outta the Pepsi Center. I helped my ex get a ticket to the game, fuck WWE.

KYR 05-19-2009 08:29 PM

Dear Vince

SammyG's ex girlfriend (who you can watch masturbating on the Internet) has a ticket to the Nuggets/Lakers game next Monday.

For this reason alone can you please forego the hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost ticket and merchandise sales plus the millions of dollars of world-wide syndicated broadcast sales and allow the basketball game to go ahead.

Many Thanks

KYR.

That should do it :y:

Savio 05-19-2009 08:44 PM

Wait where can I see SammyGs EX masturbate ?

Totally. Everything's solved. :D

Jeritron 05-19-2009 11:06 PM

I don't know if they've planned it yet, but they should pay whatever it takes to get a few court seats through a ticket service.
Surely they can afford it.

Then, they should put some of their talent right down there on the court and have them ham it up.
Then promote it on their own programming.

Either that or do a segment where Miz or someone tries to invade the arena to get attention.

James Steele 05-19-2009 11:30 PM

The playoff game would be going on the same time as RAW, why would they want people to watch the NBA game?

James Steele 05-19-2009 11:32 PM

The playoff game is going to kick RAWs ass in the ratings anyway, so WWE needs to do anything to keep viewers.

Jeritron 05-20-2009 01:32 AM

or do anything to get solid PR out of it. The rating will be low anyways. I highly doubt anyone who already has Raw on instead is going to change for an extended period of time. It's not going to make a big difference.

Also, it's not like their future depends on the ratings. Losing to pro sports playoff games is a given, and hardly a ratings battle.
In short, it doesn't matter if they get their ass kicked. They don't need to fight to hold onto a few viewers here.
Thinking long term, causing a stirup would be wiser.

I dunno...I heard Lashley already had the entire city of Colorado Springs booked for an "exhibition" between himself and a bunch of Army tanks.

Ya know, because he'll do anything for a cheap pop.
