PC is dead
 

Was on, doing a few different things, I was just leaving it run. Went back to is a few hours later and nothing, not on, nothing.

Took it apart, the MOBO is functioning, as i've got a light which shows there's power to it.

The power switch has an LED attached and even that is working and coming on, but when I press the actual switch it doesn't switch on.

Took it apart, tried just pressing the button on the end of the switch, again nothing.

So, as there's power coming through onto the MOBO, am I right in thinking my PSU is ok.

I'm hoping that it's a case of a new power switch cable, does that sound possible?

Or is there something glaringly obvious i'm missing here.

Also, anyone know what the name of that power switch cable is that goes from the power switch to the MOBO. Searching for power switch cable is coming up with loads of shit, none of it what I need.

yeah, it's called a power switch :D
use a multimeter and check it's working.

Dunno where you can buy one though, might need to make one. Or if you cant be bothered with that, buy a new case.

You can jump out the power switch, but usually its the power supply before its the switch.

Weird though, as power was still coming through.

And because of my bastardising of the case, I now need a new case.....
