mewithoutYou - It's All Crazy! It's All False! It's All a Dream! It's Alright
New goodness from the Mewithouts, filled to the brim with religious undertones but I like the group so much I can ignore them.
Just downloaded it. Haven't listened yet, but I'll post my thoughts in the morning or once I've had a chance probably, since it is 2am. Anyone else appreciate earlier works of these gentlemen? |
I keep getting told by a guy at work to listen to them, so I should really check them out.

Yeah but don't start with this CD. I dunno. Huge directional change on this album. Much more acoustic/folk-centric. It's a little Neutral Milk Hotel-ish in places. It's not a bad thing, it's just not what I've come to expect. But it's a pretty drastic departure.
Again, it's not bad, but I guess it's a little how I felt about Cursive's last album: sure, it was released under the Cursive moniker, but it felt like a Good Life CD - same thing here. It's by "mewithoutYou" but it really feels more like "mewithoutYou's acousticky, folk-style sing-a-long". Observe the difference: "January 1979", Catch For Us the Foxes (2001) <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5R8y4NxPdSs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5R8y4NxPdSs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> "Every Thought A Thought of You", It's All Crazy!...
