Hideo Kojima teases us again.
 

Hideo Kojima has set up another teaser site. This time it's a flash site of a field in a thunder storm at night. The page has a clock counting down in the centre. Every 30 seconds or so a large rumble of thunder is heard and lightening flashes and a letter or number appears breifly behind the clock. If you watch it long enough, Big Bosses face appears on the screen before disappearing after a few seconds and then we get more letters and numbers.

In the time I watched it, I got a 3 then a 5 then the image of Big Boss, then E then e again but in lower case for some weird reason and then P and finally R. Then I stopped watching. A leak has shown an image of Big Boss and an image of Raiden in his Ninja suit (Pic). This is leading people to think there could be 2 MGS games on the way.

The logo on the hat of Big Boss is said to be important and "a new kind of system".
I'm not sure what all the letters and numbers are unless it's just random stuff or the title of the game or something. There is an interveiw from Famitsu on Kotaku where Hideo Kojima talks about it but most of it is "XXXX" censored for some reason. I'm assuming so as not to give things away or possibley because whoever translated it to English isn't very good.

Neither do I. I just wanted to pass on this news as it seems to be buzzing around a lot lately.
I'm interested in what will be revealed purely through curiosity.

This better not be just some new mode or something for metal gear online. Really hoping it's a new game.

Also, Metal Gear Solid is over. Died with Snake. But Kojima said the Metal Gear series as a whole wasn't over, so if it is a new game, it will be the start of a new chapter in the series.

Which doesn't bother me at all. Loved every game in this series besides snake's revenge, and the NES Metal Gear.

I don't have a problem with kojima's writing like a lot of people do, as I don't take it very seriously. One exception being MGS3 as that was the best written story of them all, and had my favorite ending in a videogame ever.

Speculating on the clues, if it is a new game, it looks like the story may take place in two time periods, where you play big boss in the past, and raiden in the present. Just a guess, but that would be awesome.

It's E3 next week and it's been going around that Kojima or whoever is going to announce the next project.

Hopefully that will be the case and not Kojima coming out to announce another countdown to TGS or something :roll:

I do. I just probably won't buy this, like I didn't buy most of Kojima's games.

The teaser countdowns have been cool, though.

Another possibility I've heard was a game starring a grown-up Sunny. I thought that sounded kind of awesome.

That would be interesting, but I imagine her role would be 'Otacon' to Raiden's kid (if we're talking next generation heroes).

Still think the Big Boss/Raiden split protagonist would be the best idea. That way you could have a new type of play style for raiden, and please hardcore faithful by having big boss play like the usual MG methods.

I am with the theory that it probably won't be a new game..but an expansion pack for MGS4. Anyways, I don't owe a PS3 so bah :( Maybe ill borrow one from a friend and rent MGS4.

tbh, I would be happy if it was new content for MGS4.

It would certainly follow the Substance/Subsistence tradition of the last two games.

Metal Gear Rising on PS3 and Xbox 360.

According to ign, ps3 gets snake, 360 gets raiden. sweeeeeeeeeet

Press release makes no metion of a PS3 version, but G4 are saying it's defo not an exclusive. Kinda confused right now.

Yeah, apparently a lot of mixed reports on the exclusivity.
