NBA Finals: Make your pick

YEP SEPERATE THREAD. Pick who you think is going to win. Interesting matchup. Lakers are better, but Orlando presents hella matchup problems....

SO IS IT KOBE?! OR DWIGHT?!

Keep in mind. Predict who you think is gonna win. Not who you want to win.

HeartBreakMan2k 06-01-2009 03:33 AM

Magic, have had bets on them from the start.

Howard obviously FTW

SKIP 2 MY LOU!!!!!

SammyG 06-01-2009 03:34 AM

I really like Orlando. Like I can't hate them like I would hate the Celtics in the Finals for example. Not one player on Orlando I dislike. MAYBE turkoglu from his Sac-town days... but not really anymore.

I DON'T CARE WHO WINS THIS FUCKING SERIES. NO LEBRON = NO REASON FOR ME TO CARE.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-01-2009 02:13 PM

Think it's gonna be the Lakers, unless Lamar Odom can't cover Rashad Lewis. Kobe & Dwight are both gonna go off, so I think it may come down to the Odom/Lewis match up.

I want the Magic to win though, can't stand the Lakers. I really don't know how anyone can root for Sasha Vujacic, it blows my mind.

lol yeah he is definitely a bitch. I hope he gets traded. He sucks this year.

DaveWadding 06-01-2009 03:16 PM

I would never root for the Lakers under any circumstances.

Evil Vito 06-01-2009 03:19 PM

I'd rather see the Magic win...but in terms of who I think will win, gotta go with the Lakers

Testicle 06-01-2009 06:14 PM

I hate chosing the lakers, but I gotta do it. They are simply the better team.

It is finally time for Kobe to win one without shaq.

The Gold Standard 06-01-2009 06:32 PM

Orlando. Lakers cannot handle the inside game of the Magic. Magic already proved they could handle a great scorer in the Eastern Conference Finals. However, it will be 6 or 7 games

OssMan 06-02-2009 05:01 PM

I honestly don't know enough about the NBA to analyze this matchup but I just kinda know that the Lakers are gonna win. :-\

They handled LeBron? It was his teammates who didn't play well, mostly because Mo Williams and Delonte West are smaller guards (6'0 or 6'1) and had issues when bigger defenders like Pietrus (6'6), Turkoglu (6'9) & Lee (6'5) where on them. Lakers won't have a problem with that. Like I said Howard is definitely gonna go off I think, but I dunno if it'll be enough. I really think the X factor is the Lewis/Odom match up.

Juan 06-03-2009 01:25 AM

i agree

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-03-2009 01:36 AM

I think the Lakers should start Odom and put Gasol at the 5. No one is stopping Howard anway (especially Bynum) so might as well force Howard to cover Gasol so Pau can draw him out on D with his jump shooting ability.

No idea who is gonna guard Kobe, Pietrus when he's in there but who's gonna start off on him? Turkoglu? That's a tough match-up...

SammyG 06-03-2009 01:36 AM

Odom is not starting. Pau is starting. It will be Pau on Lewis

SammyG 06-03-2009 01:36 AM

Yeah, I agree Stima. That's what I said in the other thread too.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-03-2009 01:36 AM

Should bump Bynum out of the line-up, he's trash. Guess it doesn't really matter though, when it comes down to crunch time Odom is gonna be on the court and Bynum is going to be on the bench.

SammyG 06-03-2009 01:39 AM

Only one that can body up KINDA with Howard. Gasol would get eaten alive.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-03-2009 01:43 AM

Howard's getting 25 & 20 most likely either way, plus Bynum is gonna get in foul trouble trying to guard him. Curious to see what happens if both Bynum and Gasol got into foul trouble, who do they usually bring off the bench?

SammyG 06-03-2009 03:19 AM

Josh Powell... and in the worst case... DJ Mbenga...

Ogen 06-03-2009 04:30 AM

Where are my main men the Celtics :(

Jesus Shuttlesworth 06-04-2009 01:51 AM

Lost in the 2nd round to the Magic. One of their top players was out for the entire playoffs, feel pretty confident in saying they would have made the Finals if he wasn't out.

Juan 06-04-2009 03:10 AM

As a basketball fan, I can't wait for game 1.

SammyG 06-04-2009 04:51 AM

Oh I feel ya.

During the initial influx of foreign (mostly Europeans) players in the NBA they where really known for flopping and playing soft. That has kinda changed a bit more recently but it's still there

SammyG 06-05-2009 03:28 AM

AKA Vlade Divac

RatedGSuperstar 06-05-2009 09:13 PM

Wasn't able to get a post in before Game 1, but I'm still thinking Lakers in 6. Orlando's not going to shoot 30% the entire series.

Go Lakers! I just wish it could have been Boston they beat this year.
