Perfect Dark"

Barely confirmed, MONTHS away, but I don't care. I will gladly be the one to make this thread and give updates.

June 2, 2009 - Were you one of the many that played Perfect Dark Zero back in 2005 and wondered why there was so much hype and anticipation for the game? Now you can find out.

Major Nelson updated his twitter feed with the announcement that Perfect Dark, which debuted on the Nintendo 64 back in 2000, is coming to Xbox Live Arcade.

No details about any new features or who is handling development were given, but it appears for now the game will be a straight port of the N64 version. But one thing to note is the game will run at full 1080p. No word if any of the framerate problems from the original were fixed.

According to the preview for when you dl the premium theme (which is free btw) it's "rendered in greater definition and sporting a silkier framrate than ever before".

But if they change ONE note of the music, I will riot.

Yeah asshole, Perfect Dark". Because that is the name of the game. Way to prove to everyone you are an asshole who has never played the greatest shooter ever.

Only vid I could find of the FARSIGHT (  heart: ) in action. Put it on mute though, I cuold only take 7 seconds of their nerdiness.

Kalyx triaD 06-03-2009 03:18 PM

The one, sole issue with the game was framerate. 4plyrs vs 2 Darksims was a horror movie.

Fignuts 06-03-2009 03:22 PM

Fucking awesome. Glad it's the full game and not just multiplayer too.

RoXer 06-03-2009 03:23 PM

I have a feeling the Farsight won't be as fun without a split-screen.

When you're playing on a split-screen you can tell when you're being targeted.

Online? Single screen? It will just get annoying.

RoXer 06-03-2009 03:24 PM

OMGGGG what about co-op campaign? 4 player??

That would be wonderful.

Fignuts 06-03-2009 03:27 PM

oooooooo and that one game mode where one player is joanna and the other player is the enemies.

RoXer 06-03-2009 03:27 PM

Oh man, and going through those gun trials will be a bitch too. Probably 50G achievement for golding all of them I bet.

I remember I only needed like 3 more guns to gold them all. And that was back when I was...12? So I think I might be able to do it now.

road doggy dogg 06-03-2009 05:21 PM

This may be what finally tips me over (what) to buy a 360.

Savio 06-03-2009 05:33 PM

damn if that is multiplayer online I'll be kinda sad i dont have a 360.

Jeritron 06-03-2009 06:47 PM

I love this game so much

Jeritron 06-03-2009 06:47 PM

<3 the Blade Runner level

G 06-03-2009 06:50 PM

If this is 800 points, I will buy it.

Kalyx triaD 06-03-2009 06:53 PM

1200 easy.

G 06-03-2009 06:53 PM

The Chicago level is a really heavy homage to Blade Runner. The design of the city is exact, as are the streets.
Add to that the fact that it's dark, rainy, and you are wearing a trenchcoat and using the same gun as Harrison Ford.

Jeritron 06-03-2009 08:48 PM

Also, theres a map in there with a lobby that's pretty much exact to the one from The Matrix.
I don't think it was a conincidence. There's a lot of easter eggs in the game.

I love that game and it's storylilne is pretty cool. Overall the "universe" it occupies is top notch, and I enjoyed how they mixed a Bond-like spy game with sci-fi and aliens

road doggy dogg 06-03-2009 09:49 PM

Savio 06-03-2009 09:50 PM

Nah I like warehouse the best

PapaGeorgio 06-03-2009 10:06 PM

My friends refuse to allow the farsight when doing multiplayer cause I totally destroy them and I have to hear them bitch and moan about how its cheap/cheating that that's all I do. AKA BRING IT ON MOTHER FUCKERS!

RoXer 06-03-2009 10:24 PM

If they include the "classic" guns and "classic" maps than theres no reason for them to release Goldeneye on XBLA.

If they included extra skins from Goldeneye then that would be badass too. Maybe not the Bonds or the bad guys because of liesencing issues but maybe some of the generic gaurds and shit.

For the board felicity go to the dead end in the lab section and get your farsight out.

Set a sentry gun out and set it up on the other end of the hallway... mine the hall way then go into the little room and blast people away with you farsight

Kapoutman 06-03-2009 11:04 PM

I'll convince my friend to get it.

Now if they could re-release Goldeneye. :(

Fignuts 06-04-2009 12:57 AM

Perfect Dark is miles better than Goldeneye, imo.

Kalyx triaD 06-04-2009 06:44 AM

Kilometers, actually.

Perfect Dark is what they wanted Goldeneye to be.

road doggy dogg 06-04-2009 01:58 PM

They're both awesome games.
