Arlovski
RIP :'(
|
Oh man...fucking hell Arlovski...(also damn, I really wanted to see Arlovski V Overeem)
|
It was inevitable. You can't take that many brutal KO's and then try slugging it out. I was more surprised that more people didn't see Rodgers winning this by KO (although it was quicker that I thought it would be).
|
It's annoying because Arlovski is such a class fighter, he has awesome skills. But what can you do when you have 0 chin :(
I really feel for him, you can tell how much of a hard worker he is. |
Too bad. I really like Arlovski.
|
I thought for sure andrei would kill rogers, then when I saw him walk out and stand in the ring, it just looked like he was going through the motions and wasnt really pumped for the fight. To be honest it looked a lot like GSP before he fought Serra the first time. I could tell right away when he was in the ring that he wasnt going to do well.

Rodgers is officially scarier than Kimbo.
(Then again, he was already scarier than Kimbo) |

Tim Sylvia broke his chin :'(

And even if he didn't, Fedor sure as hell made sure he was done.

Wanderlai Silva had a ton of rest before Rampage put his lights out too though.
|
That rampage punch (not the drink) was gonna knock anyone out though...whoever could take that shot and keep fighting isn't human...ok so maybe Fedor :shifty:

Taking a left hook in the jaw from rampage is like taking a head kick from cro cop. Given that... I would not be suprised if Franklin KOs Silva very badly with a hit that wouldnt normally put silva out just because of the damage he suffered from rampage. Along the same lines, I would say arlovski better take a LOT of time off before fighting again because the hit he took from Rogers was not necessarily brutal but his chin isnt taking any shots, and when he fought rothwell, he took some shots like that and he was fine. Maybe fedor just puts a curse on the guys he beats now where he kills their careers. |
Read Reavants post and thought he was dead, scared the crap out of me.
It's a shame that he's gone this way, he was the first fighter that I really got into watching. |
So was he a late, late replacement?
|
Yea he stepped in with like 2-3 weeks notice
|
I dunno... from what my coach told me (andrei's wrestling coach), andrei didnt spend any time with his chicago coaches and did all his work with his boxing coach from roach's gym, and when he was supposed to get mma work in with his normal mma coaches, he just worked with his boxing coach. Not that it made too much of a difference anyway.
