Oh boy.

D Mac 06-08-2009 05:32 PM

This will fail if they don't have Momma Said Knock You Out by LL Cool J.

DAMN iNATOR 06-08-2009 05:33 PM

Dear Lord...*SIGH*...well I do hope this game is way better than Def Jam: Icon.

road doggy dogg 06-08-2009 05:33 PM

Getting entirely too ridiculous.

I don't think there is a comparison

D Mac 06-08-2009 07:45 PM

Yeah this is another music game not a fighting game.

G 06-08-2009 11:53 PM

I cannot wait. There are so many lyrics that I have to spit.

Anybody Thrilla 06-09-2009 01:18 AM

Does it work like that Rock The Mic game? That was awful.

D Mac 06-09-2009 05:34 AM

It better have some DMX, too. Why not go ahead and have some explicit lyrics? It would be stupid to have songs with shit cut out of them.

Funky Fly 06-09-2009 06:05 AM

It will fucking suck. Technology is still not at a point where voice patterns are recognized properly. Why do you think the spoken word bits in Rock Band work even if you spit unintelligible garbage?

Kalyx triaD 06-09-2009 07:54 AM

Yeah, you can't judge 'rap'. RB/GH judges pitch, how will this work? I do like the community ideas they got lined up. Could put some lyricists on the map. I'll pass, though.

because the original engine had flaws and it was just easier to do it this way than overhaul?

That's really not so much the fault of the technology and more the people who set up a major platform with broken detection.

Ermaximus 09-29-2010 03:45 PM

Yeah this game honestly isn't going to sell all that well.

I wish they'd do a Def jam Vendetta sequel. That was actually a pretty decent wrestling game.

The human voice is too complex to be able to be recognized by a machine as accurately as other biometric data.

Not a bad list, but there could be so much more, and so many better songs left out..

D Mac 09-30-2010 04:50 AM

Like I asked before, are these uncut? Will they have the N word? Doubt it.

Funky Fly 09-30-2010 08:07 AM

Probably not, considering the type of game, but Fight for New York had a ton of bad language.

I agree Icon sucked though

D Mac 10-08-2010 05:25 AM

IGN gave it a 7.5 and said it's really fun, but...

Quote:

The biggest issue with the game is the editing. I get that the developers wanted a Teen rating, but some of these tracks get butchered. It prevents the game from feeling like a pure hip hop game. Literally every person I played with groaned when they saw their favorite song edited. What makes it worse is that the edits aren't even consistent. Words like "ass" or "hoe" will sometimes be censored, and sometimes left in. Now nothing stops players from saying the words anyway, and I am certainly not advocating people saying a lot of the words that are taken out, but from a purely artistic perspective this should have been an M game. Honestly, what parents out there are magically going to be ok with Rapstar just because it's T instead of M?

Kane Knight 10-08-2010 08:12 AM

Nigga please

Funky Fly 10-08-2010 02:16 PM

Yeah, knew it. These music games are meant for almost everyone to enjoy so they butchered it. Hopefully, they'll rerelease it with an M rating for those who would actually prefer it that way. Don't hold your breath though.
