Chris Jericho

Isn't it interesting that fans booed Chris Jericho all of last year for simply telling the truth?

He said Shawn Michaels was a sell-out, which nobody wanted to believe. Then by the end of the year, HBK had become JBL's puppet.

He said Ric Flair was desperate for attention and craving that "last run", just like Mickey Rourke's character in The Wrestler. Only months later, Flair is back in the ring (even if he's not wrestling).

One of the great mysteries of wrestling is how Jericho is a heel for simply being honest.

Hypocrite.

Wrestling's fake.

Kalyx triaD 06-09-2009 10:39 AM

I could explain how pro-wrestling heels work and how they rewire what fans know about their heroes to generate heat but...

I'll just leave it at "wrestling's fake."

I love it when heels actually have a valid point to make but then just come across as way too much of a whiny bitch about it. Jericho and Hassan are two of my favorite heels in recent memory. Jericho was right in most of the things he was saying yet he pretty much used the crowd as the ignorant face to his heel that can never get the point across because they will just blindly cheer HBK no matter what.

Same with Hassan. He never really bashed the U.S. but more so the way that people in the country acted, which was a pretty valid point that he actually did a good job of proving in his final weeks.

I guess what I'm saying is, fans blind reactions to people is what makes a heel great. It's classic pro wrestling. (Hell even I was cheering HBK during the Jericho storyline).

kareru 06-10-2009 03:37 PM

i remember when hassan was wrestling the whole crowd would chant ' U.S.A, U.S.A' but when you heard him speak he had the most american accent i have ever heard, cant the wwe fans spot their own countries accent?

starfox8500 06-11-2009 04:19 PM

Not when you spell, "Country's," wrong.

countries is acceptable

Xero 06-11-2009 06:35 PM

No. It isn't. You want the possessive form of country, not the plural.

Only way it would have been acceptable would have been to make the plural form possessive, " countries' ".

thedamndest 06-11-2009 06:36 PM

If by "acceptable" you mean "not acceptable" then yes, it is acceptable.

KYR 06-11-2009 08:00 PM

I accept thedricies' acceptance.

kareru 06-11-2009 08:42 PM

I think it's more the manner in which they were addressed.

Anyway, welcome to the site. What is your name, and where are you from?

Testicle 06-11-2009 10:38 PM

Speaking of Jericho;

Is anyone watching superstars, I don't get WGN where I live :(

I've heard that his match with morrison was really good.
