New Raw GM Is...... SPOILER ALERT

SPOILER: show

As seen last night on Raw, Vickie Guerrero announced she was resigning as General Manager of Raw.

In a perfect case of timing with next week’s Raw taking place in Charlotte, North Carolina, Ric Flair will be announced as the new General Manager of Raw.

Flair has re-signed or is on the verge of re-signing with World Wrestling Entertainment. There are no plans for him to wrestle, so the vacancy in the Raw general manager position works out perfectly for him to return to television.

Impeccable 06-09-2009 02:45 PM

If so, he's almost come full circle.

Anything that brings Flair to my screen gets the Impeccable Seal of Approval (ISA)

What's gay though is that kay fabe wise, Randy's punt to the head has caused months of absence to huge stars like Batista and Triple H, whilst an old man recovers from it in 2 weeks. :shifty:

Krimzon7 06-09-2009 03:09 PM

there was nothing left to damage in flair

Jeritron 06-09-2009 03:15 PM

The closer he is to a ring/storyline every week, the more likely he is to wrestle eventually.

I'm not saying he will, and I don't think Vince will let it happen, but you just never know. I wish he'd stay off television and make his retirement mean something.

Afterlife 06-09-2009 03:22 PM

Good God, this is awful. THE MAN CAN'T TALK!. And I don't mean that as faux insider slang that he's just bad on the mic -- which he is -- I mean he literally cannot speak.

Okay but pretty sure it was meant to come off as a full blown punt?

Savio 06-09-2009 04:16 PM

oh wait I was thinking wrestling was real and that was why he got healthy so quick.

He's Ric Flair.

Some people have said he is the best mic man in the history of the business.

And I think its a good idea to have him as the GM. Raw is struggling right now and having ric on each week should help.

James Steele 06-09-2009 05:01 PM

So, Ric Flair will return full-time to WWE and Triple H will win the vacant WWE Championship next week on RAW? I might not be able to handle the erection that will occur.

Hey...Flair is THE man.

He can be buried alive in the middle of the desert with no sign of civilization on a thursday, find his way back to Nitro on a monday and have gotten over the burial so that he doesn't even so much as mention it.

Supreme Olajuwon 06-09-2009 05:08 PM

Did Flair form another consortium?

Gertner 06-09-2009 05:10 PM

Meh.

DAMN iNATOR 06-09-2009 05:12 PM

Ahh, great...early 2002 called, I think they want their lame idea left alone...

James Steele 06-09-2009 05:16 PM

I loved the co-owners storyline (while it lasted). Also, this follows the Jim Cornette rule on rehashing angles.

FourFifty 06-09-2009 05:18 PM

I loved Vickie as Raw GM. She was so easy to hate.

Legend Killer 06-09-2009 05:23 PM

Flair as the GM... Expensive!!!

Jack Tunney as President... Not so Much!!!

Randy Orton's punt... Priceless!!!

James Steele 06-09-2009 05:30 PM

I can't wait for Ric Flair to turn heel after being GM for a year or two and proving the entire world wrong. To be the man, you gotta beat the man...and nobody has beaten Ric Flair in "Being The Best".

If Flair is to succeed as GM this time, they better make him an immediate heel. There's already Tiffany on ECW who's a face, and Theodore R. Long on SD! an obvious face GM. And it would follow the "formula" of generally having a heel GM at the helm of RAW.

Zeeboe 06-09-2009 05:53 PM

He'll be a trillion times better then the fat bitch with an annoying voice, and crap mic skills! Flair has some of the best mic skills ever. He'll be great.

James Steele 06-09-2009 06:01 PM

You aren't evil, but you most definitely are a clown.

screech 06-09-2009 06:06 PM

Didn't he turn down an offer to be the GM of SD not too long ago?

The problem, here, is that not only was Vickie's "I resign" tirade excellent, but you're both missing the big picture: FLAIR CAN'T TALK. Hith lithp athide, He thoundth like hith tongue had a thtroke. He may as well have a mouth full of marbles and glue, because 90% of the noises from his mouth sound less like a promo and more like a drowning cow.
Add to this the fact that his improv is redundant and generally terrible, and Ric Flair will be making me change the channel during his moments on Raw. Just like he has since his "feud" with Orton started.

Volare 06-09-2009 06:10 PM

Wooooooooooo!

XL 06-09-2009 06:29 PM

Afterlife is pretty much spot on here. Flair sounds like his tongue has been repeatedly stung by bees.

I'd also much rather see someone fresh in the role. I'm still crossing my fingers for a "Million Dollar GM" some time soon.

Comrade Canadia 06-09-2009 06:30 PM

Is this sourced, or just an educated guess? Flair as GM isn't ground-breaking, but he's better than one of the McMahons making a triumphant comeback AGAIN. Ugh.

'round here taker707 is Ryan Clark the news guy. He ripped it from off the news page here. Feel free to tell him to shut up.

RVDmark 06-09-2009 07:01 PM

Flair obviously has some bills to pay now he is divorced again. He's either going to do it wrestling, or by being in a non wrestling capacity. The only way the latter pays enough is by doing it in WWE. And after Flair's sendoff, him wrestling again would destroy that legacy.

Flair as GM might even be good.

Shut up taker707

Halbowsky 06-09-2009 07:17 PM

I'd rather see Regal back as RAW GM. He was brilliant in that role

Droford 06-09-2009 08:02 PM

GM Batista! He can continue to make Legacy/Orton's lives a living hell even when he's out hurt.

Regal needs to move to commentary eventually. Cole/Regal would be awesmoe since Regal would bury Cole the whole time.

You may feel this way, but I doubt that a majority of WWE fans would agree with you.

I thought about that when Vickie mentioned the lack of decency and respect in the crowd. That could be her goodbye gift to him, naming him her replacement.

So, if I said "The sky is blue", WWE fans would disagree with that? Because what you're saying is that you will ignore simple facts in order to maintain your nothing-based opinion.

That would be funny as hell. I would like to see Austin back as GM.
