Hardest Game You've Ever Played
I am playing God of War II on Titan mode right now, and it is ridiculous. I spent 2 hours on the Horsekeeper (Theseus) last night and couldn't get past the second wave of centaurs. Even before that, this game was pretty challenging. I have done some reading, and apparently it gets pretty sick later on.
What is the most challenging game you have ever played? |
Warhammer: Dark Omen, without a doubt.
Seriously, you can barely afford to lose any men in each mission. |
Some stupid text based adventure where if you didn't type "hyperventalate" somwhere within the first 7 moves, you died.
I was just reminded of this game by an interview I was reading, if I hadn't seen that, it would be Batman on the NES or something. |
Have to really think about it.
Not a game, but the Luca Blight fight on Suikoden 2 is one of the hardest boss fights i've ever done. |
TMNT
Ninja Gaiden Black was the first thing that popped up in my head. I'm sure I've played worse than that though.
Ikari Warriors 2 for the NES. Using the game genie and it still took hours for my brother and myself to kill the final boss. Still not sure how we did it but there definately had to be a better way or that game had some wierd bug.
Oh god Sonic 2 on the Game Gear. I couldn't get past the first boss when I was younger. They only gave you one ring as I recall, and it was far too hard to keep.
I dunno, aside from all of those obscure NES games probably Ninja Gaiden on Xbox.
Double Dragon II
Or Contra |
Mad Dog McCree back in the day was tough as hell, still is today.
Actually probably Mega Man.
Ghosts N Goblins. :(
Battletoads.
Yo Noid!
Silver Surfer
Super Contra Hard Mode. Games today are pussy. Also: DMC3 (original), GoldenEye (00 Agent), Street Fighter 4's Seth (even on Easy for fuck sake).

Battletoads was ridiculously hard when i was 10 that and simons quest
Battletoads in Battlemaniacs is up there, once you're past the first 3 levels. If we're talking modern titles, Stuntman: Ignition is retardedly hard. Like not even fun to attempt hard.
Gradius 3 comes to mind from my early years of gaming.
After a combined total of 10.5 hours, I fucking beat that stupid god damn piece of shit Theseus (Horsekeeper). I have never been more satisfied killing a boss than when I slammed his fucking head in the door repeatedly. :foc:
Another vote for Battletoads. Anyone who tells you they beat the speeder bike level is a liar. Or they cheated/got lucky and went through the warp toward the end.

I eventually got good enough to get to the last level on the Game Gear version of Battletoads. I still never could beat it.
Man I keep bringing up that stupid Game Gear. |

Goonies II was hard as hell
All Mega Mans
Michael Jodan and the Chaos in the Windy City Super Bonk |
Alone in the Dark for 360
Superman 64 UN Squadron towards the end. |

Toki :shifty:

Before Ninja Gaiden came along, the PS2 remake of Shinobi had me throwing my controller against the wall.
yea, a lot of NES games were ridiculous. Ghost N Gouls comes to mind
I think it was Ghostbusters 2 for NES.
I remember when I got it from a cousin I was extremely pumped to play it. I worked for hours to get it working, doing all the cartridge and blowing tricks. I'm pretty sure I never got past the first enemy. It was impossible |
Took us another day to beat the next boss. The dude with the giant hammer on the huge horse. Pretty satisfying when you actually beat them though, because you have to pretty much do everything perfect for the run that you beat them on.
I've been playing through Okami on my PS2 and while it's fun it's also a real doozy in some of the boss battles until you figure out how to deal the most damage to them, which can be a real bitch.

I had the same problem, I also sucked at Sonic and Knuckels, couldn't get past the fourth level. |
