So my wife just won tickets to Raw this Monday

yea, wow. It was through her company. she hates wrestling, but we get a free dinner and will be sitting in one of the suites. I hate driving to downtown Charlotte, but I couldn't turn this down. This will be my first live event ever.

There's going to be like 3 other couples in the suite. I hope it's not to awkward when I let the smark out of me

Any Tips from you live show veterans?

OssMan 06-12-2009 06:58 PM

You've never been to a live show? What

I went to 2, one was some house show that my friend invited me to which got me into wrestling, the other was the Royal Rumble in 2004. All I know is the fireworks are a lot louder than they seem. And sometimes you can feel the heat from them

Xero 06-12-2009 07:00 PM

Assman's right, even on the other side of the arena you can feel the heat of the pyro (especially the opening, Batista's and Kane's) and they are loud as fuck.

Assuming you have a good crowd it'll be an awesome time and will definitely come off better than anything that has been on TV in a long time.

Also, be sure to yell random shit during the lulls in the crowd.

Not when he's entering with Road Dogg.

jimmy012345 06-12-2009 07:18 PM

tv taping are da bomb. im going myself with my niece monday night. i got floor seats

ClockShot 06-12-2009 08:59 PM

Pretty much what Xero and Assman said.

But also, getting in with a few good sections with some "smart" fans really helps. My first show I went to, I was talking with the kid next to me and pointed out a few odds and ends throughout the night.

I wouldn't bother with a sign if you're up in a skybox either.

Droford 06-12-2009 09:28 PM

I went to a SD taping back in December and got stuck in a section with a bunch of kids whose parents would look at people anytime they tried to get a chant going or something..

Xero 06-12-2009 09:35 PM

I just hope I get a decent section at NOC.

Shadow 06-12-2009 09:48 PM

Wait wait wait.....YOU'RE MARRIED!?

Loose Cannon 06-12-2009 09:56 PM

yea, should be a blast. I totally forgot this Raw is going to have everyone there and 3 Championship matches

James Steele 06-12-2009 11:23 PM

3 hours too

That, and just have fun.
Don't get wasted, but drink until you have a good buzz. If you can convince your wife to drive back then tip back a few during the show.

Also, before you let your inner smark or mark out, ask the room "So who here is a wrestling fan?"

Innovator 06-13-2009 12:34 AM

Great matches are made even better live, and you're getting Edge vs Jeff vs. Punker

Stickman 06-13-2009 03:26 AM

Dress up as Holywood Hogan

DAMN iNATOR 06-13-2009 04:24 AM

If you bring signs, beware...if they see one that's considered "controversial" and they think it may get on camera, they will probably confiscate it or try.

Triple Naitch 06-13-2009 11:20 AM

I caught a live show last August in Wildwood and was surrounded by Mexicans who brought signs which were spelled incorrectly. So make sure you spell your signs right.

Xero 06-13-2009 01:27 PM

Why would anyone bring a sign to a house show?

I never got that. To me it's all about getting it on TV.

Anybody Thrilla 06-13-2009 01:43 PM

I find it really fucking hard to believe that Loose Cannon, from Charlotte, North Carolina has never been to a live wrestling event. How does that even happen? It's truly mind-boggling.

Most wrestling fans are crazy proceed with caution.

Anybody Thrilla 06-13-2009 01:52 PM

You're going to a see a lot more Cena fans than you think, by the way.

Loose Cannon 06-14-2009 03:15 PM

well I am not from here. only lived here for 5 years.

My sisters graduation was at Time Warner Arena here in Charlotte yesterday so I saw where I would be sitting. like I said, it's a suite, so we'll be in our own little section. It's going to be pretty nice. I'm to lazy to make signs, but I'll take pics.

#BROKEN Hasney 06-14-2009 06:48 PM

TIP: Don't suggest to turn the suite into a swingers party.

Nobody would see you sign from the suite, would they? You should have fun, but personally, I prefer closer seats.

Loose Cannon 06-15-2009 04:10 PM

I'm not taking a sign. I like the suites a lot better to be honest. Free Food and no crowds to deal with. My brother in law is going now and he's a big fan, so it will be a good time. I'm wearing my Xtian shirt and if Flair comes out, I'm yelling Ric Flair sucks as loud as I can during his mic time.

TSI 06-15-2009 04:35 PM

yeah live shows are awesome.....dont be afraid to get caught up in it...the harder you mark out the more fun it is

Keep in mind you're in his backyard.

How can you say you like it better if you've never even been to a live show, you chucklehead?

Anybody Thrilla 06-15-2009 05:28 PM

Ric Flair won't hear you from the suite, btw.

DAMN iNATOR 06-15-2009 06:12 PM

Wow, aren't you lucky - well, I mean, for the most part. The only downside is you'll have to listen to Vince blab about his choice of a new G.M.

I've sat in suites before for hockey games there. And the suite isn't like you think. There's the place where all the food is, but then the seats come all the way down and our right above the lower section fans, so if that arena went silent during a Ric Flair speech, there's a chance he'll here the "you suck Flair" from the dickhead in suite 221.

probably not though

Team Sheep 06-15-2009 06:19 PM

Gotta love the floor seats, the first like 6/7 rows anyway. I know people who prefer it up in the stands so they can get a better view of the show, but I just love being closer to the action even if there are a few heads in front of me. You can feel more down there.

Looks like I'll be in the tiered seating for Mania next year though as I don't think I can afford to shell out another $750 :$

Xero 06-15-2009 06:22 PM

Next show I go to after NOC I'm getting floor seats (hard camera, of course). Never had them.

Loose Cannon 06-15-2009 06:37 PM

yea, floor seats would be pretty awesome at Mania.

well, I'm out of here in like 10 mins. everyone enjoy the show...hopefully. I'll miss the Raw chat tonight

Xero 06-15-2009 06:38 PM

Enjoy the show man. :y:
