Tetris

The original version just turned 25 on June 6th, eight days ago. Discuss any fond memories of playing this masterpiece of Alexey Pajitnov.

I was going to post, "I wonder if he gets royalties for every time they make a new version of Tetris", then looked it up on Wikipedia.

Weak sauce.

Anyway, Tetris is the goods.

Indeed it is the goods. I think given the choice between it, and eventual Nintendo copycat Dr. Mario, I'd choose Tetris 100% each time.:D

Definitely. I liked Dr. Mario tons, but Tetris is the original and the best.

I am the greatest Tetris player on these boards.

In Soviet Russia, games patent you!

Kalyx triaD 06-15-2009 07:33 AM

I can beat all of your asses in Tetris. My only rival is RoXy.

Disturbed316 06-15-2009 07:35 AM

You can still find it around here for $30 to $35. I thought Nintendo started to reprint Tetris DS a year ago. I don't think they have though.

I remember I never played Type B because I thought it was stupid, and then I went through periods when it was all I would play because I liked that it had an ending.

CycloDS Evolution + www.romulation.net = win

Online Tetris multiplayer with power ups was so much fun. Still plenty of people who host servers and play games last I checked.

There was actually a rather good documentary on the Discovery Channel a couple of years ago, where they showed all the cloak-and-dagger stuff that Western companies had to pull in order to get the game out from the USSR. I can't remember the name, but it was rather neat.

Anywho, Tetris is just about as classic as you can get. You can't not love it.

Anybody Thrilla 06-17-2009 01:29 PM

If you don't like Tetris, then fuck you. It's the only game on my phone right now.

Khuntry 06-19-2009 02:49 PM

Tetris Attack was great...

I think I know what you mean. Was it this? That one was on BBC4 though it could have also been shown on the Discovery Channel. That's only the first part though. I can't seem to find the rest now.
